Question about affilliate Google conversion code

Hi;

I had a request by someone who would like to be an affiliate of a product that I sell on Clickbank. While it seems odd to me, perhaps I am the one who is out of touch here, so I would appreciate your input.

This affiliate would like me to add his Google conversion code to my thank you page. I am not sure that I understand the purpose of this.

First of all, it doesn't seem to make sense for me to add anyone else's code to my site. Would this not show tracking of all sales? not just this affiliate's sales?

Secondly, since a small graphic is shown when the tracking code is placed on my site, does it make sense to place the code of numerous affiliates on my pages?

What would be the plus or minuses of doing this? Is there some nefarious plan behind this sort of request or is it harmless?

Thanks
Phil G

    This is being taught in the recent ppc classroom release. What I understand is that each Google user has a unique code which will be referenced against codes/cookies/whatever so they get verification of the conversion. The tracking can be used by anyone as long as they install the gid (Google ID) on the original Click-through link.

    The tracking image is only required on the thank you page as it is used only for tracking conversions. The benefit for the affiliate is tracking which campaigns are working for them.. Analytics is your friend for the rest. This is my general idea of the issue however and I'm not an expert in that area so forgive me for any mistakes or technical omissions I may have made.
