Guys I really get mad by getting spammed by promotion mails.

I just received a mail 2 minutes ago from a "wannabeGuru" with following content:

Hey Mario,

please check out (Product with affiliate link) cause its hot.

Bye,
(Name)

Can you believe that? I mean now they don't even write full sentences anymore, much less adding ANY value at all.

I answered him, unsubscribed and I won't buy any product.
Sadly enough this guy has quite some credibility.

Anyway, those mails are making me sick.
No value, just making quick money. That sucks

I guess that type of email will only tend to work well if you really trust the person sending it to you.

    Hi Mario,

You're absolutely right. But think about these poor wannabe gurus who have to fill their autoresponders with all these messages to earn a quick buck. Don't you feel sorry for them that they have to think up all that content to send to their customers?

You should have told him that it was too late by the time you'd hit his affiliate link - the hot product had gone cold, and all because his e-mail lacked brevity. Let him know that such lengthy e-mails aren't doing him any favours

I mean it's okay for me when they add value on a regular basis ....then it's okay to promote a product once in a while.

And at least make it a letter.

But this guy crossed the limit,

hi - buy this - cause its hot (What a great Explanation why to buy it)

    Couldn't believe it.

The other day another wanna be guru promoted Google Shadow.

3 days later he sens a mail: Oh sorry the product isn't as good as I thought, don't by.

    What the Heck ???
man that really pisses me off, at least test the damn product or if you can't then stick to your decision to promote it.
    This is getting ridiculous.

Let me know if you are on a list of a guy who is adding real value, please !!!

I remember Rich Schefrens free reports, they were great. But then literally got spammed like crazy, every day.

Man is common sense missing or are they just all damn greedy?

anyways, I keep unsubscribing and looking for value ....

Yep but the big names at least write a letter lol.

Kinda too straight forward to only say: Hi, buy this cause it's hot.

Anyways, at least he's cutting the fluff I guess... arg

    Mario,

One of the things that bothers me is when Warriors come in here and post a "I am pissed" on a subject that has been discussed in here more times than any of us can count. Instead of wasting your time and my time about you being pissed off, why don't you come up with some really good suggestions that can add value to the WF.

Perhaps you could have written a suggestion of "How Not To Promote Products" to your subscribers. Essentially your OP did the same thing the guy did to you. "No Value".

    That's my opinion.

    Mario,

I got that exact same email, but I am inclined to defend him and the product he was promoting. I have gotten nothing except quality from this guy. The product he was promoting is also reputable.

I read every single email that this person puts out even if I know exactly what's in it and what he's promoting because he is one of the few honest down to earth guys whose list I'm on.

If it was some idiot trying to promote a piece of crap to you, I would totally understand your position. But it wasn't.

@Curtis: I just got recently on his list. It wasn't about the product, it was about his way to promote it.

I mean imagine you sign up to somebodys list and 2 days later you get a mail like that. What would you think of that guy? I would've expected value first, then try to sell something. That's at least how I learned it.

      @Ken
When I post I try to add value. That's not always possible.
This was a 1 sentence promotion mail and I thought that stinks and I wanted to see what others have to say....and they answered. If you don't like my thread, why would you bother then to answer?

      Talking about adding value:

I understand your situation. I suppose I'd feel a bit put off by that if I just joined his list.

However, don't you feel it is a nice change from the copy paste efforts of the big gurus? Obviously I can't out them here, but certain gurus send me nothing until a big launch comes around and then they send me their "this gets my highest recommendation" emails. I prefer marketers who just give it to me straight, are honest and/or blunt, and have integrity.

Honestly, I would recommend you getting back onto his list somehow. His own products are top notch and I trust his judgment.

I prefer honesty as well, but "trust me this is hot" just doesn't cut it in my book either.
How about selling me on something based on what it can really do for me?

I get pissed when people like you call opt-in email spam when it's not.

I get pissed when people like you bitch about promo emails instead of clicking the remove link.

I get pissed when people like you expect free content emails. I tried content, I tried answering questions, etc and it paid less. I also have people tell me they love my to the point emails.

I get pissed when people like you label someone a wannabe guru when the person never calls them self a guru.

Would you like for me to go on about what people like you do to piss me off?

    @megas: I totally agree, that's my point.

@Garrie Wilson: nah man I got your point, no need to go on mate =)
I don't expect free content. What I expect is at least some information about the product, some reasons why I should buy it or at least some form of promotext or good copy which I could learn something from and put to my swipe files.
Again, I think a one-sentence promo sucks and obviously I'm not the only one with that opinion.

    @rahulchandra: I totally agree !

    Cheers Warriors,

It's just marketing YellowBoy. There are more important things to be concerned about. Have bigger fish the fry as they like to say. No point getting pissed and feeling sick about something that you can't control and is (really) only a minor annoyance.
