How to monitize my 4500 unique visitors??

Hi guys, I have a music website i am not sure if i am allowed to put the url in this message but it is called Pink Floyd Guitar. In this site i teach floyd fans how to play pink floyd music on their guitar. It recieves between 4,000 and 5,000 uniques per month now which is supposed to be quite good. However I am finding it hard to monitize. I already use a affiliate supplier which i dont get much i also dont get much from adsense. I sell floyd music video lessons for each song which are not selling well but i do know that I need to increase the number of lessons heavily as i only have about 6. I do give something free in a free e book on sign up, guitar tabs page lesson and lately weekly guitar lesson videos.

I guess my question is Do any of you experts on here have any tips to increase conversion rate?

Many Thanks!

It seems like you do not what your viewers really want.
I suggest you can do a poll in your website asking what your viewers want.
provide some options for them to choose, and thanking them for poll with free gift.
Then find/create solution for what they want and put them on your website.

Yes. The gold-old-fashion market research poll is the way to go. This is the bet way to target your visitors.

That's OK traffic but it's not going to make you rich.

If you play guitar yourself then I think it would be a good idea to create your own lessons to sell to people. Give them a small taste of each lesson for every song & make it an affordable price like $17 or something for someone to buy them all from you, if you're good anyways. That's something you'd be able to turn into a clickbank & maybe even an amazon product.

Other than that anything that has to do with becoming a better musician is probably going to sell. Other than that just rotate some offers in premo placement man, feel out your own site by doing some testing. It might take you months to figure out what's going to sell the best but it could be the difference between having a site that makes you $50 a month & having one that pays your mortgage.

I looked at your site. I think you are not communicating the value that you are product has, all that well. If you put yourself in the shoes of your visitor who visits your website, will you buy the stuff that is being sold and promoted? The answer might be "yes of course" if the product is of high value but a lot matters on how well you communicate that value to your site's visitors. No body is going to be that hasty to pull out his money from his credit card and spend money on your site if it does little to nothing to persuade him to make that purchase.

I have a feeling if I got the wrong website. Is your site pinkfloyd-guitar.com? I couldnt find adsense in your website at all. If you are going to place ad sense in your site, you must place them in the following areas:

Where to place Google ads on my pages - AdSense Help

You will get the highest conversions if you placed your ad sense here.

Try to generate even more quality traffic for now. Focus on building a lot of value and less on the money for sometime. Like if there is a hard core pink floyd fan who is completely broke and who has no money in his purse, your site should still have a lot to offer him.

    Hope this helped. Cheers

CTR theme can do wonders for monetization. I'd get a couple of related clickbank products, promote them as pages of your site, install CTR theme and set that up, then immediately start working on another site if I were you.

Hey guys thanks so much for the feedback. Great advice. Just some points on what was said. I have experimented with opt-in lists quite heavily. I did actually use pop- over ads promoting an e-book that gotten me more subscribers. I split tested this with a conventional opt-in form and there was a difference. However i also thought about the neagtive point after that which were annoyance of having to click out the form frustrating for returning visitors. Also i was aware that promoting a free e-book means that most are just interested in that free product only and put out a spare or unused email address. This is what i heard from aweber.com.

Regarding clickbank products i tried to promote 1 or two and have failed although i did not promote it effectively with content. imgeek2727. I don't understand step 4, can you leaborate please?

Cheryl, don't the majority of websites put the opt-in forms on the right hand side!? I would stuggle to put it on the left as that is the nagivation table is although i could try.

Couple of things mentioned above, but to reinforce, I would go with:

            - Popup which will drastically increase optins;
            - Try get into adsense; and
            - Build a premium content range - if you clients are loyal and you offer good quality stuff they will pay for information above and beyond your free content.

            Hopefully this helps.

            Thanks

Hi there guys thanks for your feedback. I know what my customers want but i think that the majority expect all content free and i think that I need to find the correct sequence to a realistic conversion. Yes, alrikvincent, my website is pinkfloyd-guitar.com! i do get many compliments about the site to say that i have done a good job with it, just the conversion i think is low for the amount of traffic.

Riverview, I've had a look at coupons.com. Seems to be all food related stuff. Doesn't really suit my market at all however thank you I do use two affiliate programs in zzounds.com and also WolfgangsVault. The latter i've had no conversions with.

    Thanks

Here's how I would try and make money off that traffic

    1) Install popup domination or some other popup element.

    2) Write a FREE ebook compilation of guitar tricks, tips, etc or any other "valuable" information your visitors find interesting enough to want to buy

    3) Advertise the free ebook in the popup - they just need to subscribe to your newsletter to get your free ebook

    4) Send links to free webinars that link to Clickbank offers or custom content or services you offer. You don't need to sell much to quickly beat your Adsense earnings.

The great thing with this INCENTIVIZED newsletter marketing method is your turn temporary VISITORS into a long term asset

  • I had a quick look at your website and I agree with imgeek2727, in my humble opinions you can improve it by:

    - having a pop over to dramtically increase optin rates
    - the optin form on the RHS panel should be positioned a little higher and be more "eye catching", possibly better use of colour
    - you should include some clickbank products or similar, because you only need a sale or two and will easily earn more than your adsense

Anyways my two cents worth! Thanks

Also had a quick look at your site and agree with the others who say that your opt in should be more eye-catching and positioned where your visitors can easily see it (top right - new edit)

You may also think about these suggestions:
      - What are you doing with your subscribers? How often do you email them to maintain your relationship? You can also promote new products in your emails.

      - People buy when you give them a sense of urgency - e.g. a "one time offer only" or limited period discounted price.

      - try to sell upgrades after they have bought your first (cheaper) offer.

      Hope this helps!

I would make 20 high quality video tutorials of how to play the songs. Release three onto the website that they can learn for free. Also post them on youtube. Then say if you sign up to be a member for $10 you get to go to a different part of the website that has all of the songs available to learn and play. Once this is a success go onto another band and repeat the exact steps again. Pick a similar band to Pink floyd so you can link to it on your current site.

First thing you need to do though is improve site. If you want people to pay premium prices you need to have a well laid out good looking site which your unfortunetely isn't what you have right now.

Perhaps manually pick a few offers that are most relevant to your visitors, as opposed to leaving it to adsense.

I couldn't see any monetization at first glance. Your ads are not prominent. Here are a few suggestions:

-pop over optin form with free ebook over
-adsense at the top of each post
-some Amazon products with some cool pink floyd gear on the sidebar
-a cheap ebook or video course that goes in depth with each lesson
