12,000! But 12,000 what? (Time to start digging YOUR goldmine)

Yep...that number 12,000 refers to something specific. You may be surprised to discover what it is.

I know I was shocked.

How often have you seen threads started by people wondering what IM product to make, or what topic they should choose for a WSO? It's not a bad question, but when it's asked it makes me wonder if the person realizes that they are sitting on a goldmine.

Let's call it the "Acres of Diamonds Effect". (A must-read book, by the way)

Anybody asking these types of questions here is missing something so simple. The Warrior Forum itself is already providing the answers.

12,000 is just ONE example of what's right under your nose.

It took me a while to find all of them, but there are more than...

12,000 threads in the main discussion forum that start with the word 'how'.

Do you see how powerful that is? That's 12,000 questions from people wanting to know how! And that doesn't cover threads that start with words like 'where', 'why', and 'what'...and even those would only begin to scratch the surface.

The next time you are looking for ideas, come to the Warrior Forum and start digging your own personal goldmine.

Don't overlook the obvious just because it seems so obvious.

All the best,
Michael

That's some great advice. People are so caught up with launches and sales pages with promises of knowledge and money but fail to realize that they have access to an unlimited amount of free resources.

Just take a look at past launches or sales pages or forum posts or the dozens of other products you've already bought for ideas/inspiration/models.

For the right product creator, it's a potential series of ebooks. Heck, the right person could launch an entire business in the IM niche off of that. Now, I'm not saying some newbie could come along and do that, I've given my opinion on newbies jumping into this niche too many times.

It's something veterans should take not of though. think of all the information that is just sitting unorganized on this forum. People sure as hell aren't using the search function, it's why they go buy WSOs in the first place (when the answers are often under their noses). You could not only find the questions that need to be answered, but the beginnings of answers in those very threads.

You have the book idea, and suddenly the talking points you need to cover as well. Now? You just need to go perform supplementary research (and if it's a topic you don't know much about, you soon will if you do things write), and write a hell of a guide. You now have your very own product to sell, and can legitimately claim that you know about the topic through the research and testing it took to write the book.

You're a good piece of sales copy and a list of affiliates away from a great IM product launch. Not just in the WSO section either, but the internet at large where people will still pay for (and not refund) good information. It's a crazy opportunity...for the right people.

Amen! The shiny object syndrome is a major pitfall for people who are trying to find their ground in the IM world. But this forum really does have all of the answers. I can't believe that I paid almost $100 a month for a special 'affiliate training forum' that had a lot of neat gadgets and tools but at the end of the day I made ZERO from it.

    Lesson learned.

...or 12,000 ways to start a new list

Here's is just a random sample of a few of the "How..." questions you can find on the WF.

How big should your list be before you start selling?
How can I create a simple news aggregator for WordPress?
How are you checking if your website is well optimized for the search engines?
    How are EZA articles ranked?
How can I get 1000 visitors a day constantly?
How Can I Get Rid Of Adware?
How best to determine desperate PROVEN buyers
How Can I Increase Affiliate sales Without A List?
How Can I Make Professional Looking Marketing Videos?
How can I make money with what I know?
How can I get the most articles out on the internet as possible, fast?
How Can I Block Google Completely?
How Can I Find Related Web Pages?
How Can I Get At Least 1000 Unique Visitors Per Day?
How can I customize the WordPress register page?
Do you think you could write a 4 to 10 page free guide/report on any of them? If not, there are 1,000s more to choose from.

In my ever so humble opinion, the question at the WF should never be "where can I find ideas for products to sell", but rather, "how in the world can I narrow this down when there are so many possibilities?"

Hmm...that would be ANOTHER "how..." question, wouldn't it?

LOL That's what I'm trying to do. I could probably start other blogs. I just really can't be bothered. I'm happy to just keep plugging away with what I'm doing. Trying to build up one site while I write articles to pay the bills.

I quite like my niche because I don't need to research anything outwith my own head. It makes for writing longer articles much easier. I don't think I have the energy to research a 1000-word article every day. The ones I write just now for a client are only 500 so I can write without getting stressed I have ages to go lol

And that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

I know the term "goldmine" is often used in advertising copy, but this really IS a virtual goldmine. It's up to us to do the digging.

HOWEVER, the analogy to a goldmine isn't entirely accurate. In the real world, the more gold you mine, the less of it remains. On the WF, the more "gold" you mine, the more you discover.

This is some solid advice, I've noticed quite a few of the same questions that get asked over and over instead of the posters doing a search for similar questions that have already been answered. Instead of it being helpful the forum just seems to get flooded with the same old same old.

You analysis is right on the chili! The most basic approach to any large issue is to ask
"how" it is done. For example, I can stand on one bank of the Mississippi river and wonder about the fastest way to get to the other side. The best answer would be an ebook on "How to Build a Bridge" for $9.99.

OK, that's a stretch, but you get my point.

You are as accurate as a sharp shooter, my friend.

Valuable post, Michael. Too valuable - should have been a report!

For those of you who don't dabble in IM fields - don't forget that there are plenty of questions about whatever subject you are knowledgeable about on forums and websites all over the Net. Trust me on that one.

And that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

      Hey Sal,

Your addition to the original post is excellent. Too many people don't realize that they already have everything they need to succeed...and the internet makes that statement more true than it has ever been.

There are also those people who think all of this sounds so simple that it couldn't possibly work. I would like to offer them some friendly advice: It doesn't have to be complicated to work. Besides, complications only slow things down.

Anyway, the information is here, there, and everywhere. It's everybody's for the taking, and that's wonderful news!

I love this thread this is EXACTLY how I released an ebook in a certain pet niche.
I found a forum and hung out there for a bit. Then started scraping the forum for tons of common questions. Put these in an ebook with graphs, links to tutorial videos, resources for vets, examples of how to medicate your dog etc etc.

The ebook was something a lot of pet owners care about.
It contained ALL THE ANSWERS they craved.

It provided these answers in a natural systematic way. Like "you must do this first before you do this." Showing people how to simplify some of the hardest stuff they can do. Like so many pet owners are afraid to inject their animals even when they know they need these injections every day.

So they DO NOT even wind up doing the injections, and their pets die a lot earlier than they should.. then the pet owner feels guilty. This is something I was noticing a lot at a job I use to have many years ago. I used a natural fear many people had against themselves. I used science to explain thier animal with x disease was y times more likely to die if they didn't get treated a specific way. A way that 90% of vets recommend but something like 20% of dog owners actually use. These people are actually afraid to take the control, because they feel if their animal dies they are then responsible (thing I mention in the book is if they DO NOT take control they are going to feel 100xs more guilty later on - when its too late). Problem is the chemistry is so basic and simple their animals are so much more likely to live if they just take action.

This both drove people to buy the book and obsess over the "technique". They realized "wow this is really much simpler to do than I thought". If you can bring people to that realization, you have definitely helped them afaic. What is most interesting though is theyd just rather pay money for the ebook than do research online, exactly like the OP is implying. I had to find out all this information myself so I could take care of my pet the right way, so figured I'd write an ebook about it.

I'm very happy I did it because so far its helping quite a bit of people.

I mean you get to HELP people and get paid as a bonus? Why the hell not?

      Hi Red,

That's an excellent way of looking at it, and it mirrors my personal selling philosophy.

      Which is basically this:
      1. If you are selling something that people need, and...
      2. They will be negatively impacted if they don't get it, then...
      3. It's your duty as a seller to help as many people as you can.
I go into more detail in this WF thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...your-duty.html

    Michael,

That's exactly how I found the ideas for the report series I'm working on right now. I have finished three of them already, have 6 more scheduled and definitely keeping an eye open for more. If you're working on infoproducts (or any product) in the IM niche this forum is one of the best goldmines out there.

And that goes for any niche. I'm working on a report in my main non-IM niche that I got the idea for from visiting and interacting in forums in that niche. Forums and social networks in your niche are powerful if you use them CORRECTLY.
