Hello all! I will be designing a site possibly for my friend and some other people.

Looking for a great host that has reseller hosting I can use later down the line.

I am not interested in GoDaddy or Hostgator. Pretty much, I just need something that is reliable for my clients and isn't bogged down with too many clients.

I heard DreamHost is pretty good but what are your thoughts? Thanks to all!

    Hi Mav91890,

You can try myhosting.com. I would say they have all the criteria that you are looking for - great host with reseller hosting, not too popular with too many clients but is reliable. Their pricing are also not too expensive either. I do not host my website with them but I have some friends who have used their hosting service and they have nothing but good things to say about them. Their average ratings by real users at customerlobby.com is a 5/5, 10/10 at thewebhostinghero.com and 4.1/5 at webhostingjury.com

    Hope this helps.

    What is your budget?

    What features do you require/want?

    How about a location?

There are plenty of quality web hosts out there that take pride in what they do. There are also those who do not. My best advice would be to stay away from any "top list" as they are only the top paying affiliates. Also stay away from unlimited..

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. There are a few knowledgeable people here on the forum regarding hosting.

90% of the replies are going to be for HostGator, despite you saying you don't want them.

I just re registered my GoDaddy for $15 for 3 months and new domain for $2.

Probably going to get Bluehost Reseller for my clients. I had them before and they were great.

Browse over this forum before you make any decisions:

Web Hosting Talk - Search Results

EDIT: As an owner of a web hosting company myself, BlueHost is a company I would not recommend. Neither is "JustHost, FatCow, 1&1, GoDaddy, HostMonster, Ipower, Iweb, IX web hosting.

The companies I would recommend: MDD Hosting, HawkHost, HostGator (somewhat), InnoHosting, and our company of course.

Do a search of the web hosts I said I wouldn't recommend on http://www.webhostingtalk.com and you'll see why. Searching Google is just going to reveal affiliate sites and sites paid for & owned by said providers.

Then do a search on the ones I recommended on http://www.webhostingtalk.com and compare them.

I will go with hawkhost. I didn't notice any down time with them. They seem to have raving review on WHT. Their price is very reasonable too.

I am totally against Godaddy host. Their hosting panel suck big time. If you used cpanel before you will not ever go back to godaddy panel. Php scripts that run fine straight from the box with other hosting companies will need modifications to run on godaddy. Creating simple SQL database took just sec on cpanel but can take mins to hrs in godaddy. Save yourself the headache and just skip godaddy hosting

Another +1 here for HawkHost. I've been with them close to 3 years in which I can count the number of down times and major slow downs on one hand. Their knowledge base and customer support is top notch and their pricing is good. I have no affiliation with them and would not profit at all from you joining, I just believe in supporting good companies.

BTW, i am on a shared hosting plan w/ a dedicated IP and it's $8 a month. It's the only time I'm happy to make a payment all month.

Sibername.com and jolis.net provide attractive reseller services.
These companies are respectable and their prices are affordable. They have troubleshooting support.

I would say to check into GoDaddy or Blue Host they seem to have pretty decent prices and reseller hosting. Good luck on your search!
