How Much Do You Spend On Marketing?

I was hoping that some people could share a few different marketing plans with different budgets.

Let's say for a site that is set up and ready to go, but has no customers, no list, no traffic.
What would you do to get started? How would you spend the following Marketing Budgets?

MARKETING BUDGET AMOUNTS
Up to $100
$300
$500
$750
$1000
Over $1000
$__________

1) BUDGET AMOUNT

2) How would you spend it? What would your marketing strategy be?

3) How much time would this take?

I'm sure more will agree: "NOTHING".

When you first start you should really be focusing on the foundations of your site as a business model. Internet Marketing is not like traditional marketing where you usually have to put money in to get money/etc out. You can start with nothing and if you are just starting out, unless you have major capital and know what you're doing, then I'd advise you keep to free marketing methods.

Once you know what you're doing, then you can risk a little more and begin reaching into your pockets.

Also, if you're talking budgets then you should also consider how you will safeguard you investments to the best of your ability. Try to at least break even with the ultimate goal being to produce a significant ROI, frequently and passively...ohh, I love the internet.

If you researched your niche correctly you wouldn't have a site with no customers, no list, and no traffic.

You wouldn't need any money to start out with.

You would know exactly where your customers were ,you would know exactly how to build your list, and you would know exactly the traffic source to get you started.

Everyone wants to do this for absolutely nothing but, while that's definitely possible, I don't really advise it. There are some defnite corners you can cut (in a good way) if you are willing to spend just a little bit of money.

Trying to do this stuff without your own web hosting account is really tough and considering that'll cost you just 5 bucks a month it's a pretty worth while investment as long as you're actually going to use it. Then you need to grab yourself a domain name. If you get a .info from the right place that'll run you a whole 2 bucks a year or something.

After that it's all about trading money for time. Everything else can be done for free but if you have some money you can definitely save yourself a lot of effort. It's probably a good idea to write your first few articles yourself but after that you may as well start buying PLR and getting them custom written for you. After all, if you can't make more from the articles you buy than you're paying out for them forget the marketing bit and just write articles!

And for a more specific answer here is infact my current plan and the money spent on it.

    Domain name - $2.50 (yearly)
Hosting - $5 (I already have this but eh this is what it'd cost you - monthly)
    Article spinner/submitter registration - $17 (monthly cost)
Aweber - $20 (again I already have this - monthly)
    PLR articles + reports - $100

So for about $150 I have a bunch of reports I can give away free (list building) plus a ton of articles that I can autorespond with (affiliate links baby!), blog with (main site to house squeeze page) and spin to article marketing sites (backlinks baby!).

Main site gets traffic on it's own. Article directories feed traffic to my site. Aweber capture form offering freebie reports and great info follow ups. Autoresponder sequence going off into infinity with an aff link in every one.

So $150 and a couple of days to setup, job done.

It takes money to make money.
Alot of people always disagree. But to truly make alot of money online you need to spend money online to get attention to your product and to thus make money.
I always invest as much capital as I can, around 5 thousand. I think it's a great investment because never have I ever not doubled my money
        Just my 2 cents...

This is the kind of info I was looking for. Thank you. It gives me an idea about how you really go about doing the IM thing with specific details.
