Attention List Building Pros: Help Needed!

I am in the process of building a list. I have a few questions about the subject that I don't see discussed often.
Do you remember the first email you ever sent out to that list? If so, what did it say?
Do you remember how many people were on your list before you the first email?
Did you already have products in place before you started building your list?
If so how did you set up your sales funnel.
Did you use clickbank or did you go with a wso first?
Did you ever get your own payment processors?
Did you have a oto in place when you decided to make your first squeeze page?

I didn't want to over analyze and not do anything. I've decided to just start building the list but now I'm unsure of which direction to go in once I have the list where it needs to be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first email was telling subscribers what to expect from following emails.

    A couple days in... 50ish?

Yes, that's how I got the leads in the first place for the most part

    Clickbank first, WSO second.

I just use PayPal... it has always worked!

My first squeeze page? Nope, I didn't know what a OTO was at the time.

    Promoting a webinar -Broadcast

Thanking them for opting-in and offering them the chance to get PLR rights to the ebook I gave as a gift - A.R

Do you remember how many people were on your list before you the first email?

The first auto-responder message could be classed as my first email - is that was the case 1.

But, I sent my first broadcast when I had about 150 and I remember that I made $32 from it.

Did you already have products in place before you started building your list?
If so how did you set up your sales funnel.

I had a couple of products I was marketing before I decided to build a list.

Did you use clickbank or did you go with a wso first?

I actually set up a sales page and drove traffic to it through forums and PPC first. The PPC was a bit of a mess - didn't know what I was doing. I never really made any money but I never lost any either.

Did you ever get your own payment processors?

    I use paypal.

Did you have a oto in place when you decided to make your first squeeze page?

I didn't have it straight after the DOI, I sent it in an email the next day after they had read the ebook asking if the would like to purchase PLR for $5.

To me it sounds like your over analyzing a bit here, man.

I may be totally wrong about it but it just sound like you are the kind of person that wants to know everything before you take any kind of action.

You don't - just take action and you will learn plenty along the way. In most cases, experience is the best teacher.

    Bolded answers.

I am by no means a 'PRO' - I do alright with email marketing&list-building but no one else had answered so I thought I would chip in.

I sent my first e-mail newsletter back in November 2003.

For the first issue, it was a content-rich article and I sent
it out to just 8 subscribers (one of which was me).

I was using the newsletter to generate leads for my own
      service rather than a product.

At that time, I didn't know about squeeze pages and I'm
not sure that the concept of OTOs was popularized then.

For payment processing, I used my own bank account
      and PayPal.

If there's one tip I could give, it's to get started and learn
from every e-mail you send so you get better with time.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

      Shaun

Do you remember the first email you ever sent out to that list? If so, what did it say?
I think it said - 'Thank you for getting on my list and look forward to receiving more information from me in the coming days'
Do you remember how many people were on your list before you the first email?
    None
Did you already have products in place before you started building your list?
    Nope
If so how did you set up your sales funnel.
Just get a giveaway report done.
Did you use clickbank or did you go with a wso first?
Started as affiliate. It's the quick way to fast.
Did you ever get your own payment processors?
    Yes, paypal
Did you have a oto in place when you decided to make your first squeeze page?
Nope. When you start, just go the simplest route. Then add as you go along.

Your first email to your list should offer valuable content to your subscribers and NOT try to sell anything to them. Build a solid relationship and trust with your subscribers and they'll be much more willing to purchase the products that you recommend to them

First one had the downlaod page and the second one immediately following this told my personal story.... and how my customer can achieve massive success if he/she sticks to basic fundamentals...

Do you remember how many people were on your list before you the first email?
    150 +

Did you already have products in place before you started building your list?
I did an WSO and built the list and then added backend bonuses to increase the count after a few weeks

If so how did you set up your sales funnel.
Main offer --> UPsell --> downsell

Did you use clickbank or did you go with a wso first?
    WSO

Did you ever get your own payment processors?
    NO

Did you have a oto in place when you decided to make your first squeeze page?
    Yes

And from your questions you are over analyzing for sure , this made me waste 4 months and was thinking who will buy and what to tell etc, blah blah

Once you do it you will learn and can improve so just do it ...but your questions aer valid , butb act quickly or the inner conflicts will take your thoughts on things that will not matter ..good luck.
