Banner Advertising: My First Blogging Revenue

Hi Warriors,
It's has been one year since I started blogging on my own domain. When I first set up the blog and wrote the first post, I did not expect any revenue from my blog because I only did it for fun and enjoyed the feeling of sharing my story of Moondancing and Internet Marketing. I know there are may pro blogger out there who can earn thousands of dollars monthly by blogging. But in order to achieve that, one has to be a master of SEO technique and come up with new and unique content almost everyday.

I am just a beginner in Internet Marketing field, my blog content is quite poor and has not been optimized to drive a considerable amount of traffic. So I was really surprised when an email popped in my mailbox asking me for a banner advertisement with an annual fee. Although it is not much, this is the first revenue I gained from my blog!

May I have some questions:
How can I promote to have more people buy ads on my blog?
Do u think my blog is worth buying ad on it?
What should I improve my blog (apart from the design, of coz)

I think for sites in your niche it's worth buying ad space on your blog. All the traffic helps. Just continue to update your site regularly and do SEO on it

Yes, this is becomming increasingly common these days, which is good news for us blog owners! I've got several people paying for various things on my blogs, including ad links, guest posts, and more.

I'd say yes, accept their offer, and ask them if there is any way you can improve your blog. If they want to advertise with you, they probably know what they are doing.

As for finding more such advertisers, if you find any way of doing that, PM me

That web site is considered to be gambling and does not seem to be related to your site at all.

Sure the gambling guys buy an ad on any site that they can get.

Only problem with that: Your readers might stay away in droves and Google might have a new place for your site: nowhere. Hint: Google hates gambling.

Don't believe what I say? Just head over to Google and see how many paid ads you find for "party poker". If Google does not accept money for it, I would not either.

Put up an Advertising page on your blog (would be similar to your "about" page or "contact" page) and it should be listed in the navigation section up at the top of your blog. On the advertising page list out what advertising space you have available (sponsored posts, banner ads, etc). Don't feel like you have to quote prices on the advertising page - it's just to let advertisers know you are accepting a variety of advertising. Invite potential advertisers to contact you directly to work out custom deals.

Also, browse similar type blogs and see who is advertising on them. Contact those advertisers directly letting them know you have advertising space available....

BuySellAds is okay - but you'll keep more money in your pocket by selling advertising space yourself....

oops it is really a gambling site and doesn't relate to my niche. so my site might drop out from the google search page?
