I liked YouTube better before Google bought them out. Now they're just going overboard. Maybe they'll have their own little writer's strike.

Hi Diana: Hope all is well. You will be happy to know that the great United Kingdom is not alone. YouTube not wanting pressure from the record companies here started to do a couple of things the past calender year. They invested in a software that would more easily remove copyrighted music of all sorts from the website, ban the account of offenders of the policy, and recently negotiations with Warner Brothers and related broke off so unless an artist had in their contract the ability to market their product as they wish the majority of Warner Brothers acts will not be seen on YouTube. To show you the severity of this, if you were in a band that sold 1,000,000 records for Warner and never thought to have it in the contract about being able to market as you wish, you can't even upload your own music to YouTube even if you are plugging nothing but the music! How the internet changed. Everyone have a great night! |
