Google Not Liking Title Tag Changes?

Hey guys been a while since I posted been busy. I purchased an established ecommerce site with some good rankings that wasn't touched for a year. It was outdated and title tags were not the best. I changed a few things to make them better for the user and the site and they dropped in rankings. It's not keyword stuffed or anything of that nature.

I know the new update rewards page age, but now I am curious as to if they are against title tag updates as well, there is no reason for the drop and my site and content are the best in the niche. Anyone else seeing this?

You say you changed a few things.

Changing title tags would be one thing.

    What else did you change?
It is very unlikely that title tag changes alone can cause a drop in rankings.

Iv been redesigning the site and content layout as well on some pages not much though if anything I am adding more content that's not outdated. Other pages I didn't do anything but title tags.

I am noticing this for client websites as well, one of them changed the tags not knowing what it was when editing their site and killed rankings. I changed them back and it went back up slightly but not where it was.. Has me curious because I know talk is page age, now im thinking title tag and content age might be in the formula as well, can't prove it just yet more testing will be required.
