How to market our UK-Only franchise?

Hi All

We have just launched a new franchise in the window blinds market. It is UK only and requires a total investment of under £5000. We've been 'in the business' since around 1990 and we aim to duplicate our success on a national scale...but how? We've just started an Adwords campaign but how else could we promote this? Any ideas would be most welcome. The website is at shadeline, which is a co.uk site, for details of what we are 'selling'. Should we be looking at affiliate marketing?

Thanks for any input

    Hi John,

I'm in the UK too, welcome to the forum...

Do you have an existing customer database or client list or anything?

If you do, it's a great idea to put together some regular promotions and mailings to maintain their interest in your organisation and keep pulling the orders in.

If I were you I'd go over to amazon and order a book by Dan Kannedy called "No BS Direct Marketing For Non Direct Marketing Businesses"

It's less than £10, and you'll get so many ideas from it you'll soon be struggling to cope with all the customers...

Hope that's helpful to you, good luck

    David

      Hi John

I own a blinds business in the UK. (So I won't become a franchisee)

The on-line blinds market in the UK needs special attention. Are you looking for experienced blinds people or people you can train up?

Your main market is not people who want blinds. You are looking for business opportunity seekers who have practical skills.

This means that your keyword selection has to be very well chosen. If it were me I would not use pay per click to recruit. I would use off-line methods to run recruitment seminars in regions around the UK.

There are some areas of the UK where I wouldn't even attempt to set up someone as they are far too competitive on price.

PM me if you need more help
