Sending private message on Facebook?

I thought I'd send a few (maybe 10) messages to folks on Facebook per day to see if they need help upgrading to the Timeline format.

I tinkered with my FB page half the day making sure it was set up nicely & POOF!

The option to message people was gone. It was on an FB page I was looking at one minute & gone the next.

I looked at several other pages & can't find it. Maybe it's just a fluke for today (I hope).

Any suggestions?

    You got spammed! Check in a few days and it will be back. Although the time depends on how often you have had this happen before.

      Also, why would you help people upgrade to Timeline? I hate it and don't have it on most of my pages still. If you messaged me saying you would help me upgrade to it, I would probably mark your message as spam too.

      General consensus is that people don't like it FYI

        I haven't sent a single message yet! The message button just disappeared.

        Also I got the idea from a webinar by Jason Fladlien (he's a pretty well-known guy here).

        He never said spam anybody. He said start a conversation.

        Basically EVERYBODY hates Timeline, & I think helping folks upgrade is providing a valuable service for offline businesses.
