2 easy steps to start building your list

I've just joined and noticed there is a lot of Newbies on here so I thought I would put a post about list building. Whilst there is loads of important topics to cover in Internet Marketing , I found that if you have a good list then you have gold. It has helped in both my online and offline business. So here goes , list building 101

1. Get an account with an autoresponder company. They handle
the storing of your email list and also allow you to send out
emails. You can automate the entire process so there is little
work involved once you have your squeeze page up and follow-up
emails in place.

One of the most popular email autoresponder companies is called Aweber, that's who I use and they are brilliant. However you also have Getresponse , Mailchimp and many more. Shop around if you need to but if you want to get started right away I recommend Aweber

2. Offer something of value - free
Very few people will give you their email for you to start selling them something immediately hence most marketers choose to offer something free to encourage people sign up. The free item can obviously be a phyisical product but I personally find how to videos or 2 page reports answering a common question work the best. I use this method most and the best thing is it's really easy to do. 10 minutes in front of a camera or 15 minutes writing an article and your done.

There are loads of other things to do but I suggest to get started with these and then as the thread progresses we can start getting into more advance methods

One of the main issues with newbies is even knowing what a squeez page is. It is a page that you send all you traffic to upon which you have an optin form for your visitor to leave their name and e-mail address. This is how you capture their e-mail for later use. Your auto responder has all the info you need to create and place this optin form on the page.

The idea of free info is definitely a good one. I personally offer free reports in the IM niche to gain leads. Also don't be afraid to spend a little bit of money on advertising such as solo ads to generate some leads at first. One final trick of mine is to have an OTO (one time offer) in place to recoop advertising costs and generate income as well. You can now grow and monetize your list as you see fit. Just don't bombard them with offer after offer. Give them something of value all the time. Hope This helps.

just wanted to add some listbuilding basics from my website that may help the newbies
In my business we aim for 300 or more new subscriber per day, so I might be 300 to 500 a day on average. That’s 300 to 500 leads. For you, I would start to aim for something like 250 subscribers per day. You might be thinking that’s a lot of subscribers, or it’s going to be too expensive.
Well there are great paid lead sources, there are also very good free ones that you can use to build up your list to generate 350 or more subscribers per day. Once you hit 250 subscribers per day or more, then it’s all a matter of focusing on converting them
and then just doing the list building stuff you’re doing over and over and over and getting the same results all the time. Converting them is another thing and
this post isn’t going to be anything at all about converting leads into sales, it’s all about generating lead flow. As I was telling you, I can’t stress this enough that the bulk of your money that you make is going to come from the people that are the newest
    on your list.

    THE FRESHEST LEADS

The older a lead gets, the less responsive they become, generally, especially if you’re an affiliate.
Now if you’re a product creator and you do classes and such, you may find that some of your older subscribers are the most profitable subscribers you have because they’re your own customers who enroll in all of your classes, all of your $1,000 classes.
As an affiliate, it’s different; you don’t have that
retention. See when you’re a product creator, it’s easier to keep the retention of your list, for some strange reason.I’ve found this to be true and that should be one of the reasons why you start to create more and more products now, although over the years
I’ve been mainly just an affiliate. If you are just an affiliate, again, your normal focus should be fresh leads and keeping your leads coming in on a daily
basis. That’s at least 250 leads a day. If you’re a product creator, you may not need as high of a lead flow, but why not do both? Why not be a creator that keeps retouching the list and also generate 250 subscribers or more to your list.Hope that helps a little

Also make sure that what ever you are giving away is not only of value but is unique i.e. not some rehashed plr

This will be your subscribers first impression of you & you never get a second chance to make a first impression
