Youtube help!

Can you be more descriptive as to what you're trying to do? What's on the video that you tried to make?

Are you suggesting taking someone else's YouTube video, changing something on the video to mark it as yours and uploading it to your channel? If so, that's not very cool.

I suggest making your own content. Whether you do it or hire someone to do it...but it should be yours.

How can anybody with just a spattering of intelligence not see the intent right there? Why wouldn't you want to choose a popular one with a lot of views? Simple!

You've only been a forum member for a few days, so you may not know this, but this community does not advocate theft and piracy. Good luck in your stay on the forum. It will likely be short lived if you continue advocating stealing from others online.

It's not that hard. And yes, it does take a bit of time- it depends on how big your videosize is. You could do something else in the meantime- couldn't you? If you are doing internal recording which you are probably not, download a program called Screenflow. If you are doing external recordings, video cam would do just fine and when uploaded, just stabilize it. Try cutting out bits which are not needed so the filesize is smaller and takes less time.
You could use a video editing software to do this. Yes, it does take time to do external recordings but when the views start coming in, it's worth it.

My problem with using my video, or part of it, in a mashup, or on an aggravator site, etc., is that I don't get a cut of any ads on or around it.

I think you are thinking youtube is going to be a little too easy. Youtube has been fairly simple for me so far but you need to do some initial set up work.

For instance, setting up my power director software right the first time took about 6 hours. I saved various projects, each project with tons of videos I downloaded from youtube (using keepvid), and tons of pictures as well. All relevant to whatever niche I was working in. Then I'd save the project as something like "dub turbo niche" or "basement waterproofing niche (for my own business)" or "truth about abs" niche.

So imagine this, when I need to make a video in those niches now, I just open up the project I saved in powerdirector, it will autoopen about 50 videos and 100 pictures for that specific niche. Then I just get to work slicing things up, remixing, take out my mic and do a basic voice over. Run my voice through logic studio to beef it up then bring it back into power director.

I am able to make LOTS of newly mixed videos using this "method". If you're going to get into making lots of videos, do what any artist would do. Like a musician or painter. Make a PALLETE of sounds or colors, or in this case pictures/videos. When you go through the work of gathering your "canvas" it makes it a thousand times easier to work in the future.

Youtube takes a bit more time at first BUT once you make about 10 videos, you start learning tricks where you are able to finish things MUCH faster.

If you are really that struck for time, then maybe you shouldn't even be in marketing?
Some people will say you can finish things working on them only 1-2 hours a day, but lets face it you'll never move forward at that rate. You need MORE TIME or MORE EFFICIENT ways to work.

We got a little side tracked. Part of your problem with the time it takes to upload could simply be the format you save your videos in.

If you save them as avi or something similar, they could be 10x larger than if you save them as MP4. This means it will not only take 10x longer to upload each time, you could be eating up the bandwidth your ISP gives you.

If your videos aren't in MP4 format, try one of these video convertors. I haven't tried them, as I use Camtasia to do conversions.

You could hire someone to make videos for you but to be honest they way you should approach videos is like this.

Each and every video you make is a traffic generation machine. So make it good and make it count. Let's say you spent 1 hour creating and uploading a great video with great content...that one video is 10x better than 100 shoddy videos that don't offer much value.

I mean think about it. Someone who watches a crappy video (you've seen them, there are tons), will probably not click on the link in the video description and even if they do, why would they trust you.

Too bad there aren't more people who ask themselves if they should or should not be using other people's work.

There is a method called "curation" where you do like newscasters do:
-you introduce the content that is coming with some interesting information
-you use the important part of the video for your purposes
- you end it with your opinion/your twist to the info
- YOU GIVE CREDIT (clearly mark the http://.... ) TO THE ORIGINAL.

This is good if you find REALLY good content. You get credit for finding it and bringing to your readers/viewers AND, don't forget, you spread their url/name even farther on the web. If you give proper credit for the original video AND add some of "you" most don't mind they even see it as a benefit.

For videos there is a wso that outlines the whole process but .... it IS a lot of work to do it right: Ninja Curation Profits (I am not affiliated with them - I just think it is a very complete product for video curation).

If the problem is that your video is too large you can condense it with a program called handbrake. I haven't used it yet but I have seen demonstrations. You can find out how to use it on youtube.
