What Would You Do With A Site Like This?

Hello Warriors,

I'm wondering if you could help me?

I've been around for a while, haven't posted much but have read lots.

I started a site a couple of years ago within the nutrition field and built it up with little snatches of time as I raised my daughter mainly by blogging.

Fast forward to now, and it's getting between 50-100 views each day mainly through organic Google. I haven't done any SEO, PPC, link building etc. I have a social media presence.

I'm really wanting to focus now on monetising.

I'm making some Amazon affiliate sales (just a few each month) and it is bringing in clients for nutrition consultations. I'd like to monetize more online - more affiliate sales, etc.

What would you suggest to increase traffic and monetize this site more?

Thanks for your help,
#site

Sign up to some health affiliate networks. Health/ nutrition products usually have a very high commission (usually between 40% & 70%). Start reviewing supplements, that should boost conversions if they're done well. Making 1 sale a day is feesable with 100 UV per day which should equal to about 20-100 dollars depending on the product.

I would personally invest in SEO since you must have a ton of unique content. It would be fairly easy to boost traffic. Also video reviews of products on youtube linked back to your review page or just straight to the offer. That will definitely increase traffic and sales.

Also if you haven't already, I recommend to start building a mailing list!

I would suggest that you continue to build high quality backlinks and target other keywords to go after in Google. Also continue to update your site regularly with high quality content. Try adding Google Adsense to your site as well to further increase profits

Thank you both; I appreciate your advice.

Any recommendations for good health affiliate networks? The only one I have heard of is MarketHealth.

I don't think I can add AdSense to the website I have - it's a Wordpress template. I'll speak to the website guy.

      All other ideas appreciated

        Hi Katie,

If it is a Wordpress site, it is easy to manage and you should learn how to do it yourself. It is really easy. This way you can tweak it etc. And yes you can Adsense to a WP site if you have an approved Adsense account.'

As far as health products go, send me a PM, and I will dig up some links to ones I use that work well, based on what you are trying to sell.

What you want to be careful of is bogus products and exaggerated claims, rebills etc.

Write some articles and publish them on places like Ezine articles. Do some Squidoo lenses, these will help build back links to your site if you provide an author bio at the end of your article with a link to your website.

    Hello,

Pick out 6 hot affilate products:

Research and add 2 hot nutrional supplements, 2 hot diet guides/programs, and 2 hot WSO's to spark someones attention who is thinking of making more money themselves ( who isn't?).

Budget a $100 for top flight SEO service and help it out with a few ezine or yahoo answer articles and a squidoo lens for good measure.

    Best of luck to you!

I agree with Frank, I would try start up a list, the niche you are in is perfect for this, tons of offers and CPA offers around! Give it a try.

Consider paid advertising. You're getting clients right? Which means you could probably charge a hefty fee for your services. So spend around $10-$50 on each client, and charge them a few thousand dollars for your services once they become a client.

    Thank you everyone.

I'm going to find some affiliate products to promote -- supplements and programmes.

Randall, individual nutrition clients don't bring in thousands each... maybe I'm under charging Corporate clients are a different story of course, but most of those come from Twitter. The website also brings in media coverage. I'm wanting to really move away clients, though.

With some decent affiliate offers, and 50-100 visitors a day, any suggestions on how many orders I should be aiming for each month? I know that's probably too wide open a question.

    Thanks,

Drive more search engine traffic. If you can get up to 1000 visitors a day, your affiliate sales will increase.

Have an opt-in email list on your site. Get as many emails as possible. Even if your users don't purchase the first time, they could sign up for your mailing list and you will be able to advertise to them.

More traffic generally equals more sales. I feel confident saying that since your site is already making sales. Drive as much traffic as possible.
