How to tell if your new site is "Bad", "Good, Or "A Gold Mine".

Hey there, so im just wondering how one should gauge how well there website startup is going. What would be a "bad", a "good" and an "amazing" startup, judging by its performance in the first 6 months to 1 year. How much revenue/traffic/SERP performance is something to be proud about for the first 6 months from the launch (1 website).

Im trying to judge how well my startup is going, its been live for 6 months. Let's hear some opinions, real stories.
#a gold mine

Revenue is on a steady increase from a few cents every few days to about 50 cents everyday.

I would guesstimate around $150-$200 on Flippa prior to fees. It would probably be more beneficial to increase google rank, increase revenue, then sell.

Then you're making terrible progress. Just stating the truth. If any site after 6 months is only making on average .30 cents then that is horrible progress.Try to increase traffic and conversions

Some sites after 6 months are making $0... its making very low ROI obviously but im sure if i hold the site and keep working on it i can be decent within a year no?

There are way too many variables to answer this. Especially with the lack of details provided. If you told us how your sites doing, and about the site, we could help a lot better.

You should only be proud about sales and profits. Hits/traffic/recognition won't get you anyway. Focus on the dough, and if it's low, invest in some heavy advertising.

I would say its low, but its going up steadily, 50 cents a day at 6 months, what can i expect in a year. All my traffic is organic.

I was excited getting a few ad clicks here and there a few weeks back, but now im getting steady clicks, another 6 months at this pace i would be getting a few dollars a day minimum no?

The things is, when you are first starting, you are likely constantly learning new things, and as you learn, you are applying what you are learning to your sites.

So, with that in mind, your sites should improve with time.
