Hi Everyone,

As you can tell, I am new here and I've bee doing alot of research and reading to get a better understanding how things works. One of the first step that i've been advise is to find a niche.

After brainstorming for almost a day and did a few keyword search via google keyword tool and most of my hobbies and interest are very competitive. I've finally found a niche that is not so competitive the question i have is this

1. I've decided to start a website/blog about managing credit cards.
2. However the niche keyword i am trying to target only get 9k of searches every month.
3. My plan to begin with was to have some adsense going and offer a free cashflow management tool (excel) that i use myself if they sign-up (building list).
4. Later on i'll probably find a related affiliate product or wirte an ebook.

I am not sure if the plan of attack is a good one especially the monthly search is only 9k a month. Is that a good niche to target?

Any help is appreciated and as you can tell, i am struggling in finding my niche. I am good with Wordpress and website development and started the following a few weeks ago

itservicesaustralia.com
extratweets.com
tweetjunction.com

However i still need help with ideas on what i can do with itservicesaustralia and tweetjunction and i'll start another trend about it.

Look forward to any comments and help

Regards,
Jonathan

That is solid traffic. Just start building good content! You'll likely get some long tail traffic too!

I'd recommend getting started and fine tune it along the way. 9k visits for the niche keyword you're looking at is great traffic. Many people who create niche sites, do so on a whole lot less than that.

Set it going, and don't get hooked on over analysis. Or you'll end up getting nowhere fast like a lot of other people in this game.

      Just my 2c

    two more question,

In terms of analysing my competitors, is there any free place where i can find how my competitors are doing as far as backlinks etc.?

The keyword i am trying to target is "how to manage a credit card". Is the keyword to specific? as i dont see any possible longtail keywords coming from that

You can check on a site's links for free with Majestic SEO or FireFox SEO.
(Although the Firefox SEO has a known bug in that for some users, it doesn't show the link information for Google searches - just Yahoo).

...a targeted audience, a list, (usually) an incentive to get them on the list, autoresponders, products that will actually interest them, a sales funnel, customer support, and more.

You don't need support. You need to learn focus. You're all over the place, trying two automated Twitter follower sites, this possible credit venture, and now I see this thread about IT services:

Need help with my new website

You're trying to make three niches work at once when you haven't even gotten one down yet. As the other thread also shows, you're having a bit of trouble working the Google Keyword tool the right way.

Calm down, stop forcing it, learn how to do things, and then go one niche at a time. You will burn out and fail otherwise.
