Hey Warrior's,

I haven't been around a lot lately because I've been working on a offline project. I need to know if this company that I'm ordering from is not fraud. So I was wondering if you guys could help me figure this out. I've been talking to a person from China to get my materials I need, and I've been talking to them for about 3 weeks now.

What I need from you guys is to help me figure out if this company is real or not. Let me know what type of information I should ask for to check the companys authenticity. I got screwed once and don't want to get screwed again.

Hi Jeremy

the biggest giveaway for me is these two things:

Are they using a free email address like a Yahoo, Hotmail etc? Big companies always use their own email like @ourcompany.com

Google is your friend. type in company name/name of person you are dealing with and add the word 'scam' on the end. This should (or hopefully doesnt if it is all legit) throw up some results.

Then consider:

What payment method - are they using an escrow service?

Are the products really cheap? Too cheap=usually means scam.

Is it a branded material you are trying to import?
You cannot get authentic branded items from China!

I'm wondering if you can check on the BBB.org website. I doubt they'd be members of the Better Business Bureau but they might have info on them.

Also, have you tried Googling their company name + scam?

This is the info I got so far. He is using a business e-mail. Here's his website: Genilight Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. - LED Light,LED Strip,LED Sign,LED Writing Board,EL T-shirt,,EL Wire,LED Bulb . I'm not trying to purchase branded material so i'm not worried about that.

It is not about email only. Some companies use gmail. Check their website with who is tool and see how long they have, phone number, registrar name and so on:

http://whois.domaintools.com/

Buy one sample, after that 2 or 5 and you will see real situation.

Don't buy products which are too good to be truth.
Don’t buy products with popular brands.
