What's the optimal directory submission rate?

Hi all - I use Unique Article Wizard for directory submissions. I've got a dozen or so articles in the hopper being submitted at their recommended rate of 5 per day each.

Is this the right rate?

I assume its because google etc. view it as unnatural for hundreds of links to a site to show up in 2-3 days and won't credit you for the SEO juice. But since my strategy involves creating ~dozen social sites (wordpress.com, squidoo, etc.) all pointing directly to my site, but the UAW directory articles only pointing to those social sites (indirect SEO juice), can I crank up the rate without fear of an extended google sandboxing or something?

    Honestly, it depends on your niche, I've seen good results with submitting just 1 high quality link per day to my nich sites.

    1 good link per day shouldn't raise any red flags in Google's eyes.
