Just had a nice experience and I am hoping to repeat it in the near future.
I am selling, a few domain names and I had them listed here at the WF, Since sold Most of them so I am keeping the rest. (Get back there mine...)
Anyway, This actually happened TWICE and the second time is progressing nicely.
Here's what Happened and I thought WOW what a great Idea, lets encourage that.
Warrior PM's me for info on domain name, I supply the info and the warrior makes me an Offer to buy the domain name.
I check out the warrior's Profile and look at some of the posts the warrior has made, I find that that warrior is offering a service that is about 3 times the price that he offered for my domain name.
So I contact the warrior and say this.
"I'll take one of your service products, Over $77 value and in exchange I'll push the domain to you."
Warrior agrees its a great idea and we do a BARTER Deal.
I get the service I want, He gets the domain name he wants and NO_ONE had to give anyone any money or worry abour BS paypal problems or one of us doing the other in.
The deal was that 50% of the service was completed and a progress report was sent to me, I initiated the Push, the other half of the service came in and I finished off the transfer.
Man was I happy!
So when another warrior made me an offer we agreed to do a similar thing!
This time I get a $67 service in exchange for a domain i was going to sell for $20.
Personally I think there should be more of this.
Its all about Mutual benefit and making WIN WIN Deals.
It was a spur of the Moment decision to make the offer to the warrior that wanted my domain and it just went so well, I thought "I am doing that again!"
Sure there would be some drama, and the word TRUST needs to be looked up in the dictionary and the meaning of it has to applied to make the system work. But why NOT?
Not everyone is Lying stinking scum bag. I Find Most people to be wonderful once they understand your making an Honest Offer.
Just saying that if someone approaches you with an offer or a need for a discount on your service, why not look into what they do and see if there is a Mutual benefit deal you can strike up.
A $20 brandable software product or domain name in exchange for some backlinking or Advertising, or some content creation, I'd do that everyday if I could.
After all we are a community and communities support each other.
As I said it was a great experience and one I will be looking to repeat.
