Facebook ads:No CPM bidding option! Anyone know what is going on?

Everything else seems to be the same. When I pick the CPM option, it won't let me bid. It doesn't even show how much they are going to charge per thousand impression.

Is it only me or someone else having the same issue?

I sent a support email and someone replied that I don't have to worry about bidding, the system will take care of it. But I do want to worry about the bidding, or at least know how much I am about to pay before running an ad. I am not there to gamble.

I sent another email but thought I make a post here in case anyone else already dealt with this issue.

Can anyone shed some light on it?

    CPM has been changed! and it is totally f***!

    facebook optimize the CPM based on their algorithm so you can't alter it, it just works it out automatically!

    I had an ad today that had a CTR of 1.2% which is phenomenal if you know FB advertising and they were charging me $1.36 CPM! WTF!!!

    Last year that would have been a few cents at the most. On average I'd say the cost of cpm has gone up ten fold!

    Facebook got greedy and shut out all the small players, just as they always do.

    Even with CPC, the ads just don't get placed like they used to. All my ads that were flying a few months ago for a niche just die for anywhere around the same price.

    Facebook don't care...the ad situation is a joke!
