Hello Fellow Warriors

I am back with a list building question.

When giving away free content to your list , do you create it yourself or use plr products ?

Which is more effective .. What kind of things work best ?

Kindest Regards
Martin McNally

Depends on the niche. For example, I promote discounts on high heel shoes to one of my biggest lists. You know how hard it would be for me to come up with some PLR for a free giveaway?

Sure I could send them some PLR about looking great in shoes, but they already know they look great in shoes. Rather, they want discounts to save money on looking great in shoes!

So like I said, I think this question is really niche specific. I have used PLR for broadcasts sent to my video games niche. In that case, it made sense, didn't harm my reputation, and worked to build our relationship further.

    On a case-by-case basis, I'm sure it's a great technique to utilize.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

You are the expert in your niche, at least that's what your subscribers should be thinking. So, what do YOU think is the best information to send to your list? Personally I like to steer clear of PLR products because they are mostly rubbish. If, however, I stumble across PLR information that I know will benefit my list, I will inevitably send it to them. If it interests me, it will interest them. That's how I see it.

You don't always have to send articles and eBooks to your list. Whatever is going to benefit me, will more than likely benefit them, so I pass it on. Even if I come across a fantastic product that has no affiliate program, I send it to my list.

Well I am in the Make money online niche so I'm trying to start my list from the very bottom and work their up , so simple plr products my not be a bad idea ?

I was also thinkingofncreating a 7 day crash course for making money online , where my list would receive a lesson each day ..... Is this an old technique ?

I prefer to use content that I created myself. In my experience it is more effective in further establishing yourself as a niche authority. It doesn't mean that I wouldn't use PLR though. I just wouldn't give it away as is. PLR is best served as a research base for the product that you create.

A 7-day crash course is fine; just make sure you give away a secret first.

You don't want to send them some PLR report, most of the PLR content might include old mothed that won't work for today, so put your spin into it, go online to get fresh tips, motheds to whatever your report is all about and make it looks original. You want your list to trust you that you are an expert in what you are sending them. Hope this helps?

Thank you for your excellent responses

Im in a quite generic make money online niche , however should i narrow my list down to a certain type of of method to make money i.e. list building , product creation

Will that limit the product base i can use to market to my list .... is it better to be open and not narrow it down to a sub niche ?

You should be selling what you know how to do. So what exactly is it in the IM niche that you consider yourself an expert on? That's what you need to sell and the people who want that are who you need to target.

The most money are made in the sub niche, because you are targeting a niche that are not saturated by lots of marketers, before you know it you will be seen as an expert in that niche.
example is targeting a dog niche, which will you you prefer to go after
      ==>Dog (as a niche) or
      ==>Dog grooming as your niche

Dog is a broad niche where it will be difficult to find your ground compare to "dog grooming" where you can easily find people looking for how to groom their dog

Hi Mate - You need to be clear on what you are marketing. Its a personal choice. Whether it is list building, SEO or whatever. However I would not split my list that way

The best way I have found is to split your list into buyers and prospects. So those who have bought from you are on the buyers list. The other one could be a list of affiliates or JV's

      Hope this helps

That's right. The guys on the forum call that a pre launch and then launch when you bring your product on the market. However before you do any of that I suggest you wait until your product is ready. Thats product, sales page, any OTO etc. In my experience no one is interested in ideas but the completed article - cheers

There's no reason you can't use some PLR to build your giveaways. However, I would never use it "as-is". PLR is the rough draft or framework for creating something unique of your own.

First, as everyone has said, you need to narrow down the topic you want to cover.

Then you can look around for some PLR from different sources that covers that topic. Just looking at what's available from some of the top PLR providers will help you get ideas.

When you find some content that addresses your topic, buy it and edit it to your specifications. You can combine from different sources so that you cover all the points. Then add your own examples, nice formatting, images, resource lists, etc. Make sure everything flows together.

    Good luck!

I think its not about PLR and originally created content, its about Quality..

If u provide ur list quality content, they will not mind..

If giving away PLR don't forget to check it first.. Try to make it unique and improve the quality by putting up new images, graphics, text formatting, bg image, page quality etc

The key is really to give real value. Remember this is the first interaction point and there's only one chance at a first impression.

PLR can work but most PLR are very poor in quality. I'd recommend using PLR more as a starting point. Then add your own flavor and insights to the material.
