Just checked Shoutem out... great looking site but looks like it will cost me 50 dollars a month for the features I need...

Not a deal breaker but want to look a more options...

It's been a while since I've played around with Ibuildapp but it is very user friendly, it's really the only one I've tried ... which is why I started the thread.. figured there might be some more sites like Ibuildapp

That works out to about $83/mnth for unlimited apps. I'm thinking about it.

and probably the best is AppInventor, but requires a little more work, but still very easy and hundreds of videos on Youtube, and its FREE.

I will PM you a vendor that is one of the best on the market it is not cheap nor is it overly expensive a lot really depends on what you want to do and how you want to go about doing it.

There is a learning curve in just about any system you go with, I would personally avoid anything that limits you to a certain "pre-configured set of rules" Most professional programmers, would refer to this as a token system, it is usually very limited in what it can do and often it is not updated which means you could invest a lot of time and energy only to find out that your applications are depreciated and not usable.

There is no magic bullet, some learning is involved in all aspects of developing an app, some are a little more simplistic than others but to give yourself a real edge you should choose a product that not only provides the support you need but also the longevity of being able to develop the best products for your clients.

I couldn't agree more... the problem I'm running into is I live in a small rural town and the business owner thinks a app would be really cool but he's not sure what he wants or needs and he's not willing to make a big investment into the project.

I'm also new to apps and would not want to waste his money on an app that would not be practical for his business..

I have been using appsgeyser. It's free and got some fun apps up on Google Play quick.

Downside is they will put an ad on your app once it become popular. (There is revenue share if you ever make the cut).

But a real good way to get started.

Obviously once your app takes off you want to bring the development in-house and cut out the middle man.
