Difference between "Disclaimer", "Privacy Policy", "Legal Notice", Terms Of Use"

Hello guys,

I wanted to know what's the difference between this four and, which ones are the ones that MUST be on a website?

I ask because in my site I have only the Terms of use, and I want to add anything that I must have.

I have seen sites with just a "Legal Notice", and then on the same niche, other with "Terms", "Privacy" and "Disclaimer".... and then... another with just "Privacy" and "Disclaimer".

The three websites are authorities in this niche, so... I'm confused.

I would really appreciate your help

Regards

Marcos

Coming from a non-lawyer (since there were no other replies to your question)...

'Disclaimer' is needed by the FTC if you are an affiliate for anything (you earn money after you sell them on clicking a link) or make any sort of claims about your own products effectiveness.

'Privacy' is needed by Google (and human visitors) whenever you collect info in a web-form (signup, newsletter, contact) or run ads.

'Legal Notice' not sure, check with your lawyer or legal department. It's used to CYA, I think.

'Terms' will cover you in the event you need to kick someone off your site.

So I guess, Terms, Privacy and Disclaimers are a must.... what I'm not sure is if Disclaimers and Legal Notice are the same thing..

Can anybody else clarify a little bit better this issue? Please?

      Thanks

Terms of Use are the legal terms for accessing and using a website. Depending on your site this could be extremely important.

A privacy policy has nothing to do with Google, unless you have Adsense on your pages then Google requests certain Adsense-related language in your policy. The privacy policy discloses what, if anything, you do with information obtained from users.

Disclaimers are not limited to FTC or affiliate issues. They are disclosures that provide needed context to your website. If you are an affiliate, an affiliate disclaimer provides notice you are paid for referrals so that visitors can take that into consideration when evaluating your recommendations. If you have health related information a disclaimer you are not a doctor is useful in giving appropriate weight to your articles. And so on.

A "legal notice" is simply a title of where to find the TOS, privacy policy, disclaimers, etc.

For small websites/blogs of people who are not living in US, they are just part of formality and sometimes Google requirement.
