Web Advertising for a new site ideas and type

My site is still attempting to gain site users and views. Largely the problem at the moment is the long wait for Google etc to update my backlinks etc. Currently i have gaining around 600 backlinks in the past 2 months of being online, but still they do not show in the analytical data. However, like most first time web entrepreneur's after spending many months now learning, designing and SEO i need to start earning an income from this in order to innsure the website can not only develop but also stay alive. Currently i have lost hope with the SEO, as i have done everything i can and still nothing is happening. Apart from waiting a months or 2 to see if the results will change their is not a lot more i can do.
I am just wonder whether with the few visiters i do get, whether it would be wise to add advertising in order to generate a small income. From what i have looked into and previous experience, i will not be accepted for CPM and it would not be worth my while. So do you think it would be worth my while, adding CPC like Google add sense to my website? and if so how much could i expect to earn? I did want to add CPM because it looks nicer and i can not see myself earning much money from CPC.
