What to sell 35+ year old Women in Humor Niche?

Hey everyone! So I have a fairly large amount of traffic to one of my blogs. It's for the humor niche. And the traffic is 35 and older women which seems to be an attractive demographic.

Right now I am just running Adsense (which is doing okay). But I have collected a lot of emails and can't figure out the right product to sell them.

I was debating starting a T Shirt company, but I'm not sure it is worth the effort.

What would you recommend?

Thanks,
Frank

35 year old women? Hmmm... Some of them must have wrinkle in their face.

See if you can sell skin care products to them.

    Humorous Erotica?

Something to think about at least.

    And yes, I am serious.

Woah there! Pump the brakes! Shoes, Clothing & "all that crap" makes me a pretty penny each month. I wouldn't necessarily write it off as crap.

As a around 35 year old woman, I would say it would depend on what the site is about. Not that I want you to disclose anything but you had to offer them something to get their email addresses right?

Ya the wrinkles are starting to come about at this age, skin care would fit as would sunless tanning. The erotica stuff... again that may work as it depends on the site. I have to admit I am a shoe, jewelry, and watch junkie. I jump on a $50-$100 watch if it was my style.

There are alot of things to choose from. T-shirts may work but you may want to lean towards designer brands.

You can sell them products which dont have to do with humor if you wish. A 35 years old woman needs many things nowadays, eternalwarrior has a good idea, selling body care products might work.
If you prefer to sell digital products, you can try sell some ebooks with jokes.

It's the right demographic, certainly. I think something like 85% of weight-loss buyers are women aged 35+?

Toyboys, or books by E.L. James, may be an easier sale, though.

    35-years old women?

Try introducing some anti-oxidant supplements for them. By this time they are already thinking of keeping their body in a slim figure and to slow the ageing process. This might interest them. Give factual articles about it. And from your niche I don't think you would find it hard to incorporate some humor in those articles, making it funny and informative.

Another thing is that food supplements are very much common and trendy right now. think about it.

I'm intrigued as to the kind of humour that pinpoints the 35+ year old female

But it's not just the demographic that needs to be considered. You also have to take into account the reason your visitors have clicked on.

For example, where have they come from to find your site? Were they sent from related newletters? Did they find the site via a search engine - if so, what keywords did they use? Do they come just for a quick laugh break or do they tend to stay and browse? What other interaction (if any) do they take part in on the site?

Once you understand the frame of mind in which your visitors arrive, you can start to test various monetization methods. If I were you, I'd put up a quick survey/quiz (in the same humorous style as the site) to try to learn a little more about their motivation.

I can't speak for all women that age, but for me, the humor I was attracted to was kids humor. Along the line of kids say the darndest things and "Dear God" letters written by little kids, etc.

Perhaps it was my way of coping with the embarrassing and funny things my own children subjected me to, haha!

Many women that age love to read. After a joke (it's gotta be good), recommend some related topical books from Amazon.

        Begin joke here:
A bus stops and two Italian men get on. They sit down and engage in an animated conversation. The lady sitting behind them ignores them at first, but her attention is galvanized when she hears one of the men say the following:

"Emma come first. Den I come. Den two asses come together. I come once-a-more. Two asses, they come together again. I come again and pee twice. Then I come one lasta time."

"You foul-mouthed sex obsessed swine," retorted the lady indignantly.

"In this country ... we don't speak aloud in public places about our sex lives ...

"Hey, coola down lady," said the man. "Who talkin' abouta sexa? I'm a justa tellin' my frienda how to spella 'Mississippi'."

Thanks for the replies. The site gets good traffic, about 10-20k uniques a day.

Yeah anti-wrinkle and weight loss sound good. Many of the most clicked on Adsense ads are weight loss and entertainment (what's your face look like as a cartoon) type ads.

About the t shirts I meant like starting a funny t shirt company.

Perhaps I can funnel them into a weight loss email sign up and set up an auto responder with some offers.

        Yeah Pinterest is somewhat similar.

I would say this demographic is a bit less educated and less tech savvy than Pinterest users.

And I know they like dogs and Jeff Dunham for what it's worth

Find out what Dr. Oz is talking about. Seriously. The stuff he talks about on his show sells BIG TIME and women 35+ are his LARGEST audience. I live in a little podunk town on the Washington State Coast and even our little health food (and supplement) store gets inundated whenever Dr. Oz talks about something new.

Some of what he's talked about:

    DMAE cream for wrinkles
    Raspberry ketones for weight loss
Green Coffee Bean extract for weight loss (this one's BIG right now)

the list goes on. You don't even have to WATCH his show. You can get all the information from his website:

Sounds like you’re targeting some great demographics.

I think most members gave some great suggestions on what to target. If I were in your shoes, I’d especially listen to the ladies who have contributed to this thread and test out the suggestions; I’d be willing to bet you’ll find some great winners.

You mentioned you are getting 10 to 20k uniques per day, what are you doing to get that?

At that age, I had an offline business where I sold lingerie. No, not the cheap low class smut stuff, but classy elegant lingerie, silk and lace, that could be coupled with business attire.

The greatest slogan so to speak was the ability to go from the boardroom to the bedroom.

I also had a line of women's business attire that you could mix and match with the lingerie as well as matching accessories of all types, and cotton, comfy yet sexy jammies and lounge wear as well.

There was a huge market for that! Women that age are dealing with careers working in a man's corporate world, raising children, taking care of the homestead and often fall into a "dull routine rut". They don't feel like they're attractive to their spouses anymore let alone feel romantic. They're so busy with everything else, they have a tendency to lose touch with their femininity. And that's what my line of lingerie did. Added a touch of acceptable femininity to wear beneath business suits and was equally sexy for hubby to.

I was amazed at the feedback I got from some of my customers saying, the spark in their marriage was reignited, how they enjoyed rediscovering the lover within them, because they forgot how to be a wife when mommy mode kicked in, how they no longer felt as though they were one of the guys in business, but felt like a lady and found their creativity and productivity increased.

      Amazing stuff, really.

Anyway, I said all of that to say, that any product to help women in that age bracket to get back in touch with their femininity could be a hot seller for you.

  • If it is a humor niche, you create funny quiz pole in your site. Everyone will be eligible to participate in that quiz program and it will charge a small amount to them. You can give 3 lucky winners randomly who answered 100% correct answers of all question (There can be 5-10 questions). This quiz program will run twice in every week. Offer an attractive prize. Surely, you will make a lot of money.

The reason I am telling you that, most of the visitors of your site is aged people and mostly women. In this age, it will bring more smile on their face. It will be better than selling products.

Beware, if you charge people to take the quiz in hopes of winning a prize, then you are probably running an illegal lottery. Our rulers at every level of government frown upon those who attempt to infringe upon what they have marked out as their "turf".
