Aweber or free Mailing List services provided by Host?

Which do I use, Aweber or Free mailing list provided by my hosting?

My hosting is Just Host.

Aweber will turn out to be really expensive if I grow a large list. So does Aweber have some feature I cannot get from the same service given to me by my host? A feature that I should absolutely must have?

I can get my hosting + email marketing service for 2.4$/Month at the moment. Where as if I use Aweber, I will start at 20$/Month and will have to pay a lot more depending on the size my list grows to.

Thank you in advance

I think it's like you say, how much can you afford? Aweber is undoubtedly the best out there with so many great features. Once your list grows huge you may not worry about this expense as as trade off to what money your list is making you......

You will quickly learn that your host will be limited on deliverable rates.

Aweber spends alot of time and money whitelisting the IP's to ensure you inbox like 95% of the time.

With your host you might be on a Shared IP. So you can check the ip here MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox

Other factors to consider, How many emails can i send per hour? typically on shared hosting it's less than 500.

Finally, you should be concerned about getting shut down by your host if you get too many spam compliants

Established webmaster since 1998. Bought my first domain name for $70 and had to pay $1000 a month for hosting. It was the good life

Between the two I would have to choose Aweber, although GetResponse would be my ideal choice. Talk on a thread a few days ago seemed to hint that Aweber may be moving away from the IM market anyways.

  • Go with aweber not free, it's cheaper in the long run. Don't step over the dollars to get to the pennies.
