Default So here I am, wasting more time...

I find myself getting caught the "forum trap" quite often.

Sitting on the Warrior forum and reading through many
threads. Most of which have nothing to do with my
business.

Does this happen to anyone else?

How do you guys moderate your time on the forum so
you don't find the day halfway gone next time you look
at a clock?

I may just need to recommit myself to building my
business, so I'm going to take this moment to do so.
I'm closing my forum window so I can get some work
done.

Would love to hear about how some other warriors deal
with this for next time I login! =)

just say no. It's hard. But you can do it.

when I used to practice webmarketing regularly I spent a ton of hours on the forum.
It did help me to build an education which allowed me to improve (a lot!) my lifestyle,
both in terms of self-development (I've learned to be a better person) and just as
much in the "business" sense - I've learned how to do better marketing of a very important
and unique product: me. Basically I've marketed myself and landed better jobs :°)

So although I consider each and every hour i've spent on the forum time well spent,
it did also take a LOT of time away from working on my websites and their promotion.

The easiest way to keep track of time on the forum is to keep a timer next to you:
set it on 1 hour (it's just too hard to stay less than an hour on the forum ;-) and when
it rings just close the browser, even if you're halfway through a thread or are replying
to something. Ding -> close browser. You should make it a "pablov's dog" reaction:
when the bell rings, close the browser and start promoting your business!

...and when you'll be a rich fat cat with people doing all the work for you, your reward
will be to spend as much time as you want on the forum ;°)

Saul

Even though I stay logged in most of the time, I only post on "breaks" anymore...

You certainly can spend a bunch of time here getting caught up in reading and replying to threads that have nothing at all to do with you making money and it can become addictive

Staying focused is one of the hardest parts of internet marketing. When you work for someone else, there is always someone else to tell you waht to do. Other people that you have to answer to.

When you are trying to work for yourself, it is a new feeling. You feel good that you get some stuff done, so you decide to take a break. Then that break tends to get even longer and longer.

If you find yourself losing focus regularly, then make your own IM to do list.

1 write articles
2 submit articles
3 submit to directories,
etc....

Then do them in order. Take a short break after every 2-3 items. this will allow you to get stuff done, and still have a break. It will also help to make sure you are putting in the "time". Make sure you allocate x hours to work. then take your 15 minute breaks, and get back to work. Many people fail in IM because they do not take their business seriously enough in the beginning.

Set yourself on a time limit. I tried it and it works. I'll come here for about 10-15 minutes each day and read and make some post.

This has helped me from being in forums all day long

Well, yesterday I decided to visit the forum after more than 5 months without even thinking about it.

The point is that you have to create a kind of to do list and
prioritize it.

It is all about doing things that help you to be closer to your
goal...

Thanks,
^PV Reymond

I force myself to only spend an hour at a time on the forum. I also make sure I get at least 4 hours work done between visits to the forum. This allows me to keep up with the forum but also get a decent days work done as well.

I get in here late it's 1 am I've been writing all day and other tasks I usually try to see if there's something I can learn or help with. I'm in about 20-30 minutes a day/middle of the night. I get a WSO now and then. I don't think I'm addicted by any means I can live without it.
