I don't know if this was mentioned here on how to promote your web site if it was, sorry to be a repeat offender! Ha HA

This relates to my fishing web site.

Here's one that others may be able to adapt to their websites to get coverage locally and sometimes nationally. I donate my time and web space to make charity event pages (like right now I am hosting a Fish For Life Derby on my site for the Kidney Foundation) and that has gotten my site printed in the local paper, fishing magazines and broadcasted across Canada by C.B.C. radio. Also fishing event websites pick these up and place them on their event calanders. This gets me hundreds of searched for hits a day. It does taper off but I get many return visitors and members out of this.

I also make sub forums for local fishing groups that print off the url in their email and hard copy newsletters to their members and in return they become members of my site.

So in short if you own a fitness website, you can host an informational page of a running race or kids baseball/football, or whatever in your community and have it printed out in their newsletters. You can offer a gym in your community one of your forums so their members can discuss workouts or times to meet to workout. Give it away for free if you can and these members can become your members quickly and at basically no cost to you other than your time.

Great idea for building a list without the usual sales pitches. Thanks.

YEs I have quite the list going from this. Some of the best parts of this is that I can write some of it off at tax time!
