Why am I not getting credit for my amazon traffic

I recently set up a new LP for an amazon product. My analytics is telling me serchers are clicking through on my affiliate link, but when I run a report on amazon, I don't see any traffic coming in on that ID. My other tracking ID's seem to be working ok, just this one is a problem.

Any ideas what might be going on? Thanks.

Amazon reports the traffic stats the following day. Did you start driving traffic today?

    Slowlyman,

What exactly do you mean by LP?

That is the LP he is asking about, from your original post. I don't understand what you mean by that either.

I set up a landing page to promote an amazon product. I have an amazon affiliate link on the page. My tracking indicates searchers clicked on that link a couple hundred times over the last couple weeks. But, amazon does not show any traffic coming in on that tracking id.

I've been promoting amazon for over a year. i know how to set it up. i've never had this type of problem before.

Hope that makes it more clear. Anybody have a contact for amazon affiliates? I can't seem to find anything on the affiliate page.

Well I got a response out of amazon copied below. If i understand them, they are saying the amazon page needs to load before a click will be recorded. My tracking is indicating about 100 clicks on the affiliate link / day. I find it hard to believe none of those clicks open the product page.

They also seem to say the link checker does not work with links created by the affiliate interface, which doesn't make sense. I've tested other product links. they all test good. It's just and new links i create that fail the test.

I sent an email back withe the link asking them to test it. See what happens I guess. I paused the PPC campaign no sense paying for traffic if I'm not getting credit for conversions.

'm sorry for any misunderstanding. The Amazon Associates reports will only reflect clicks that result in a session being created. This means the customer must click though your Associates link and the Amazon.com site must load.

Many third party tracking methods will use impression tracking to count clicks. These reports will provide a higher number of clicks that would not represent a site visitor going to the Amazon.com site.

The Link Checker does not work correctly with the links you mentioned because it is designed only to check the tagging for a URL linking to Amazon.com. This tool is intended primarily for people constructing or modifying their own Associate links to Amazon.com.

Using the Build Links/Widgets tools when signed in to Associate Central will produce correctly tagging links and widgets. The Link Checker does not check the tagging for our served links such as Omakase or Recommended Product Links. It also does not check the tagging for Widgets.

For served links and widgets, our Associate Central Build Links/Widgets tools will automatically include the Associate ID or Tracking ID that you have selected when you are logged in to Associate Central while building the link or widget.

If you'd like us to test the functionality of your Amazon.com links, please use the link below to send us the URL for the page where these links are stored. We'll be happy to assist you.

Hi - I have a similar problem that has me really baffled, although my sites are with Amazon.co.uk. I have had a reasonably steady number of clicks recording at Amazon every day for the last three years - by that I mean they range up or down by about 50 clicks each day. For the last three days the number of clicks showing in my reports at Amazon has dropped between 80-90%. This makes no sense at all since my cpanel Awstats show traffic is steady for all sites and, just as significantly, my clicks for Amazon and other merchants are recorded through another service I use to display products on my sites, and that service confirms my total daily clicks have been around the normal for the last three days when compared with previous weeks./months. I'm not sure what to do as there's no way my clicks to Amazon can be down over 80% for the last three days.

Ok, got another email from amazon. they claim they see traffic and conversions on my ID, but can't explain why I don't see the clicks on my report. they told me to place an order myself, and cancel it, then run a report tomorrow and see if it recorded the sale.

I'm just blue sky thinking here..........Anybody have an issue with maleware hijacking affiliate links? Is it possible the problem is on my machine? before somebody asks, yes I tried it from my laptop, same issue. but I share a lot of files so theoretically I could have an issue on both machines. I faithfully run maleware scans.

update. yesterday Amazon had me click through on the affiliate link. I made 9 clicks, and all are showing up in my report today. but, my tracking indicates 425 clicks on the affiliate link month to date. Only the 9 from yesterday are showing up in my report. I also created two new links yesterday and clicked through on them a couple times each. none are showing on my report. i've got hundreds of amzaon links out there. this is making me wonder how many others I'm not getting credit for.

Anybody have a good idea for testing affiliate links?
