Using Wordpress Tags

I need some advice
When i add a video from You Tube to my blog i get a list of tags on the edit post page. Most of the tags are nothing to do with what the blog is about and often they are single words such as how,to,best,eat. Should i delete all of these irrelevant tags and add in some of my relevant keywords.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated
