As internet marketers, we all get so caught up with SEO, PPC and all that jazz, but what really matters, at the end of the day, are a few principles outlined in this scene from Glengarry Glen Ross (caution: strong language!):

This monolog is one of the greatest movie monologues of all times! I loved it so much I rewinded the movie several times just to rewatch it.

Glad you guys enjoyed it - Always Be Closing - remember that while writing your sales copy, and it will be a hundred times more persuasive.

And AIDA - Attention, Interest, Decision, Action - remember, this is a process that EVERY SINGLE ONE of your buyers will go through. Fulfill all processes, and your bank account will grow by the day.

    Good luck!

I remember my first phone sales job our manager made us watch this scene every morning. That and the scene from Boiler Room when Ben Affleck is giving his speech.

Wow, that was a great one. I'll be downloading the movie.

I'd like to add that if you truly care about your customers, you should be adding S (Satisfaction) to the AIDA.

  • I think most people dislike selling they say they like it it's happens then they hate being sold. It's just my observation there is a trend against selling growing.
