I have a website that has about 90 visits a day. After working well for about one month, suddenly visits drop, now it is only 10 visits. When searching in Google the site has been indexed about 600 pages in total 3440 pages. The number seems to be stable for a few week, is this a signal that my site has been de-indexed? Is this still benefitable?

Anyone can show me an example of a site that killed by Google? Any signal that a site no longer benfitable?

On the last search page Google say "showing 600 results of 3440 pages".
Another site of mine show 209 pages of 1300 pages, but when I navigate to the last page seem that Google has recalculated and show exactly 209 results of 209 pages. It still say it has eliminate similar pages ...
What is the difference between 2 cases?

Well if you can still find indexed pages on your search, that means your website hasn't been de-indexed, you rankings probably dropped for some reason. That happens when you rely on the nasty Google for your traffic.

Just try and figure out what you've done lately and maybe you can figure out what caused it.

duplicate content is the worst thing you can do to your website.. its surely like poisoning it. Get fresh and quality content pumped in there.

I'll refer you to a link that I've seen the wonderfully informative Alexa Smith post on more than one occasion:

Article Marketers – Lay the Duplicate Content Myth To Rest Once and For All - Internet Marketing and Publishing Blog

Particularly important for the OP to note is the quoted section from Google's blog (full post here).

My point is that I don't think dearfriendvn should focus all of his effort on removing duplicate content alone. It's likely that he needs to improve the user experience, and as some others have mentioned, high quality content written for actual human beings can do this.

This is just another example of why Google should never be your sole source of traffic, let alone the primary one.

Dearfriendvn, the two posters above me also raised a good question regarding the age of the domain. If it's still new, the "Google dance" isn't uncommon at all. You seemed to indicate that things have been working well for one month (only), so this may indeed be the case.

  • Was this a new domain and did you add content quickly? Also if it was a new domain did you start link building right away? Google is freakin smart and their algos are always working, so traffic can shoot way up at first but then crash down. You see this all the time in Flippa, that is why many flippers move their sites so quickly, they know a new domains traffic is limited unless there is new content added all the time.

Post real and unique content in your site. And try to get backlinks from high PR site but keep in your mind that if you make spam than your site may drop and avoid Black hat SEO. Try to find out the mistake about your Link building and SEO.

I think Google is all over the place at the moment. From experience it seems like new websites can not get into rankings, Old websites are losing rankings and the only sites that are not changing is the 3% who are high earners in order to pay a team of professionals to give statistical data on what Google is looking for.

You must update your content regularly, and attach advertise using attractive look and size banner .
You can use SEO to promote this size.
But after all content is very important.

Thank you all, I just thanks three posts that would probably most match my case.

After revisiting my site again and again, it seems that my sites would have two issues not one
    - The most critical issue would probably my pages have not been updated frequently, while in my niche it is important to keep things fresh. After a while Google could see that there is nothing new here, my content would be obsolete, and that probably the reason it sends some traffic to new pages not the old ones.
    - Duplicated content: Search results showing that it doesnot make my site punished. However it could affect the site's overall ranking.
I keep tweaking my site, hopefully this frustrated status will end soon.

great... I hope you get great result with the tweaking you are about to do. I'm pretty sure you can also take advantage of different ways to get traffic not just with google. Keep the quality of your content high so that your site could earn loyal traffic that would even look forward for your updates or fresh content.

In your last post you said you did not updated your site? then yes i would agree that it is the most critical problem you have. You have to have new and fresh contents regular to keep people coming in your website. If your rank before because of your good articles and content then you must keep your content updated so keep your traffic or even increase it.

If your site is new, and you haved some good traffic on it for a while, and now dropped, is because of the "google honeymoon period". Your site is ok. When you're banned by google, your site is deindexed totally. You'll not gonna see your page on google results at all.

Indexing and ranking both are different from each other, pages indexed means there is no guarantee that you are getting visitors until you have optimized some keywords..
