Want To Make Money? Stop Trying To Make Money!

There are several pitfalls for newbies in IM but I have found that the biggest reason people fail is because they are too worried about making money especially making money now.

It seems ridiculous to say, doesn't it? Of course we are here to make money. Absolutely no one would be in IM if they didn't make money (well maybe some of us do it for fun :p ) .

I will tell you the quickest way to make money and be successful in internet marketing:

Stop trying to make money and start trying to help people.

Trust me whether you are marketing on a blog to a specific niche or to business owners offline, they are immediately turned off the moment you try to sell them something. Then they either click away from your page, hang up the phone, or turn you away at the door.

In all aspects of life and business, the most successful people around are those that help others find solutions to their problems not the ones that are looking to make a quick buck.

So stop trying to sell and start trying to solve problems!

Once I made this fundamental change to my marketing techniques, I saw how easy it was to find a path to success.

Don't overthink this! It really is a simple as that. Find something you know a lot about or are passionate to learn like web design. Once you are skilled in what you do, find out a common problem people have with web design and create a solution.

Once you become a problem solver and not a sales person, people will flock to you and buy anything you offer!

There I solved your problem and didn't even try to sell you anything. See how that makes me look like a helper and not a sales person?

Please don't just dismiss this post as worthless. Hopefully, I will have reached at least a few of you to take action. There is a ton of information and guidance available.

For those of you who are desparate to make money online out of necessity, find a service that you can offer and market yourself. When I am desperate, I always go back to article writing. There is always a demand for it and almost anyone can do it well with practice. Please don't become a English writer if you are not proficient in English. You can still find many microjobs to do on ODesk, Freelancer, and Fiverr that don't require writing skills.

    Hey, Father.

I really couldn't agree more. Although, I will say that there are ways to make money fairly quickly, but it still involves helping people solve a problem with quality content, whether that be articles of software programs or whatever solution will work best for said problems. You are absolutely correct that success will come when you put all of your focus on helping people.

A lot of people have trouble grasping the concept of just helping people. I was at this stage at one point as well, like most. Once I really started trying to help people, that is when the money started to follow. Of course, it isn't quite that simple, but the concept still holds up. I really agree with your view of keeping it simple. There is no reason to complicate a process that is really simple.

    1. Choose a niche that interests you (optional)
    2. Find a problem that many people are having
    3. Create a solution for that problem
    4. Test to see how you can improve that solution
    5. Get paid

    Very useful post, Father.

    Oliver

I was actually telling myself that very thing this morning. I think I lose sight of it when I want to make a sale so badly. But trying to make a sale always seems to backfire. It is much better to be informative, and helpful, which puts people at ease, and creates good feelings about you, and your product.

Nice post I agree, nice topics too.
But my thinking is little different .
I want to earn money by selling information, not only information but also solid and 100% authentic information, may be it can help people or not ,but my job is to sell it.

I totally disagree. You have to think about making money to make money. You have to tap new opportunities every now and then.

But your mindset has to be on helping people first. Not just making money. If people see that all you are trying to do is make a buck off of them, they won't buy from you.

Your mindset should be in helping people solve their problem, and that will not only help you gain respect and a name for yourself, but in the long run those same people will know that you are able to give them the answer to their problem and will be willing to pay money for it.

you did not get my point. Helping people is a part of the process and not the opposite.

You have to have the end goal as making money, but be prepared to hone your skills to the pathway, if you want to make money now then only it becomes an issue, there is needed knowledge and skills in every field and I.M is no different... but without a fixed plan say , $1000 per month you will not shoot against a relaistic target, better set it and then adjust, it can be anythinf from services to building websites , so u can combine your leanring and money making once u have a well defined target...

Useful post fatherflame. Steady and slow wins the race. But with a TON of money to advertise with... the sooner you can start seeing sales coming in on a daily basis.

    Awesome post.

Find people with a problem and offer them the solution.

Who do you think made more in the Gold Rush?

The people digging or the people selling the spades?

Good post. Unfortunately I've seen quite a few make millions having convinced people to buy stuff they don't need at a price more than they're worth. (They are not in IM, by the way).

If they are happy making money that way, good for them. Personally, all the money in the world gained in this way will not make me sleep well at night.

I'd rather make money the honest way and I'd sleep much better knowing I helped someone than counting how much money I made from them.

    Great advice!

Nobody is going to hand you money before they trust you to a certain level, depending on how much you're asking for. But once you show them you actually care, they are ready to throw benjamins at you.

Just take a look at Jeff Bezos. He built the Amazon empire and his 20 billion dollar fortune by going by the words "The Customer Is Always Right". It worked out pretty well for him.
