Do Stand Alone Squeeze Pages Still Work?

Hey everyone,

I'm just curious...I'm wanting to build a new list, and I'm not quite ready to start a blog or a multi-page website. I'm just wondering if the stand alone one page squeeze page is still working well for some of you who are building lists?

In the past I've placed optin forms on my blogs, but again, I'm not ready to build a blog yet, so if you were me, what would you do? How would you market a one page squeeze page with very little content? I know Google doesn't like stand alone optin pages, so using them with Adwords is pretty much out.

Does anyone use any other PPC programs other than Google for something like this? What do you use to get your traffic? I'm just curious as to what others are doing right now to build their lists. Thanks in advance!

    From my experience and from what I've heard from others the answer would be yes. I'm sure it takes a bit more effort to create pages that keep people's attention today but it's still one of the most effective ways to build an email list if you have something good to market.

      I wouldn't pay to send traffic to it until you know conversion figures, otherwise you could rack up some costs pretty quickly!

      No reason why you can't use free traffic methods, social media etc to drvie traffic to it, see how it goes.

    Everything still works and so does stand alone squeeze pages.

    I suggest you try and use optimize press for a squeeze page/point and click squeeze by james franc
    is.

    Yep I do and they still work.

    In my experience less is more.

    I get the highest conversion rates on very basic pages, no sales type waffle... no video, just a strong headline, 3 emotionally charged benefits, an ecover and an opt in form.

    Besides SEO, I get traffic from solo ads, PPC networks, PDF sites, press releases and Youtube.

    Yes, a correctly crafted squeeze page will still work just fine. I don't prefer them personally. I like a content based landing page that has opt-ins on the right hand side and at the bottom of the text. They aren't the reason that the page exists, but they still do just fine for my purposes .

      So you're talking about a blog or multi-paged website correct? I was also thinking about possibly creating a sales copy page for a free product in exchange for an optin. Has anyone had any luck with that?

      I know content based pages are probably the best, so I guess I'm going to have to create one for what I want to do. Any other ideas out there?

        Write a 10-15 page lead magnet and then send to a squeeze page. I like video squeeze pages myself but I've done just is well with plain ones. The perception of quality and the intrigue of your headline will get the opt-in. The quality of the content will retain the subscriber.

        It's not really set up to look like a blog, but yes that is what it is in essence. I don't use "sales copy" per se for the incentive that will lead to an opt-in. As stated above, I place an excerpt of the offer onto the landing (home) page, and allow the quality of the work and the need to see what else the offer has to say convince readers to opt-in.

      That's great advice, and it's something I have planned down the line. Like I said in my first post, I wasn't ready to start a blog or a site just yet, so I wanted to know if the basic squeeze page was still viable. But thanks for your input!

    Have you tried a Solo add to drive traffic to your squeeze page? Once you build your list with Solo's, you can take part in Ad Swaps to grow your list further for free.

    A few things worth considering though:

    1. Monetize the page people go to after signing up (this will help recoup the Ad cost)

    2. You will primarily build a 'freebie list' who may be unresponsive to paid promotions - try to get them on a buyers list, and promote that list to paid offers

    3. Freebie lists can go cold quickly as they are getting bombarded with the same thing day in day out, so try to be different from the rest and you could see better results
