Affiliate marketers: What do you have planned for the day?

this question is more geared at people who make their living off of affiliate marketing...

or rather, what tasks would you do on a typical day to get those affiliate commissions rolling in?

Be as revealing as you want. I know its kind of a sensitive question.

The tasks that actually bring in the affiliate commissions are largely automated, because they almost all come (directly or indirectly) from autoresponder email to my subscribers in each niche - and those all get sent out on their respective schedules without my needing to do anything on a day-to-day basis apart from adding 1 or 2 emails to various series (but those don't get sent out yet, of course)..

But on a typical day, I'll do stuff like this, to keep it all collectively moving forward ...
    • write one article (most days, not every day) and publish it on one of my niche sites (this'll be nearly three hours' work, altogether, but not all at one time: I'll divide it up, with other things)
    • check that the article I wrote and published on a (different) niche site yesterday has been indexed by Google and then send it out by email to all the people on my syndication-lists, to get it in front of the maximum possible targeted traffic
    • submit to Ezine Articles the article I wrote and published several days (or more) ago which has now been widely syndicated and is producing targeted traffic (this one's only a 2-minute job, of course)
    • add an additional autoresponder email to one or more often to two of my niche subscription lists (typically re-using some of the material from a recent article, sometimes slightly re-written, but quickly)
    • check around my websites, Aweber account, ClickBank account, Amazon account, bank account and other "routine places" to make sure that all's in order
    • spend half an hour or so looking through ClickBank's Marketplace, at Amazon and in other places for potential additional products to promote
    • check my email a few times, reply to things needing replies (very variable amount of time for this activity!)
    • look for additional potential sites/publications to add to syndication lists (I do most of this when a niche is fairly new to me, but try to keep doing it all the time: as long as I continually add syndication partners for my articles, however few, my business will always grow and my income will always increase)
    • deal with offline article submissions (some by email even though they're published offline - others not)
And various other stuff ... (including posting here, though that isn't part of my business and produces no income at all). I do about 8 - 9 hours' work per day, I suppose. Not all "at one sitting" - that'll be spread out over about 15 hours of the day.

    Doing what Alexa says.

I've spent the last 2-3 months reading her posts and also the posts of MYOB, Joe "The Almighty" Robinson, AnniePots, and several other marketers, and I bought Paul Myer's book the other day, so I set up my first syndication site last night and I'm getting started on writing articles for it today.

JaRyCu, I'm with you! Alexa knows her stuff and I love reading here informative posts.

After reading Alexa's post here and other posts she has made regarding article marketing and syndication, I think I'm going to take a more serious look at it and incorporate it into my daily tasks, also.

I do remember reading a thread where Alexa posted several links to other threads where she and MYOB went into great detail about article marketing and syndication. I need to try to dig those threads up.

Publish an article that I've spent 6 months on. Well only about a week to write it, but all that time to gain the knowledge.

I don't make a living of affiliate marketing, I write for a company, but I usually write about one article per week and do some promoting, and my list keeps getting bigger every day. More of an investment.

For us, we are an affiliate network but we are affiliates ourselves who make a living off of affiliate marketing. Typical day on the affiliate side to get "new" commissions rolling in: research new campaigns, pick a niche, gather 3-5 offers in that niche, research data, split test with 1 traffic method at a time. Analyze , rinse, repeat..

I have recently switched my article writing (for myself at least) over to Thursdays, so on that day I write 2 articles for each niche (6 total). Fridays I work on the book series I'm creating for niche number four. I have new emails loaded into my autoresponder to post at 5 day intervals. On a day to day basis:

    • Check sales. Wonder why I'm not a millionaire yet.
    • Answer emails. I talk with my lists and syndication partners a lot.
    • Find syndication partners. At least one per niche per day to try.
Eat, sleep, do fun crap at night, and post on the WF. Write for offline clients when they need it. That's pretty much my life, affiliate marketing and all. At least until school starts back up .

    Depending on the day:

I'm making a video or writing a post. after I've done some keyword research using GKT and the auto-fill technique

then I have an article written for guest blogging; myblogguest.com. after checking the sites in my niche.

I check my stats and the income for the day.

I see what traffic generators Google Alerts brings me and post accordingly.

I write one article a day then post it to one of my sites then next day to a article directory I rotate every other day. I play a little PS3 then I check all of my networks to see my earnings then I check on the competition see where my sites stand. Send out a email to each of my lists every other day. Read and check emails and social media sites after lunch. Start a campaign and may consist of making a video or a blog post . Check my campaigns that I have going from day before optimize them.Call my affiliate managers . Go to offervault. Then certain days of the week I have stuff too take care of for my off line clients . I go all day and night until late but not all in one sitting !
