Back in " the day " I used to buy domains that dropped and had links on the net existing already. I would buy domains that related to a particular niche affiliate market and had links based on MarketLeap and it did work great.

I had a domain that had 2000 links on the Internet and gradually watched it all go away, I was pretty stupid on that one. I am not sure if this is still as possible as it was about 6 years ago.

I only buy Angela Edwards' backlink packets which contain links to high PR sites where I can get backlinks. Then I link to my heart's desire. I don't buy actual backlinks as that seems like a waste of money when you can pretty much get them for free if you know where to look.

Why buy when you can get them for free. Blog commenting, articles submission, social bookmarking, etc.

WSO -->> Discover niche related dofollow backlinks for $5! All PR2 and greater!
Review of 3 DoFollow Search Engine -->> Only 55% are DoFollow. Are you wasting time with these sites?
I paid $50 for a popular dofollow blogfinder program. Now I wish they had a money back guarantee.

Because those things take up lots of time. It can take you 5 mins to buy a PR8 keyword anchored contextual backlink that will be worth more than 2,000 blog comments.

agree with you, but the cost of pr8 keyword is sky high

I've seen a great WSO by Angela E that offers cheap and high quality backlinks for a very competitive price. And if all else fails you can do it the old fashioned way as well, with the social bookmarking and social networking to ensure that its done correctly the first time round as well. The old fashioned way has worked well for me so far!
