I just got an error message from Google

I was doing keyword research with the Google search engine and recieved this message. I was wondering if I should click on the link or not. I can't tell if it is legit or not.

We're sorry...
... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, if you suspect that your computer or network has been infected, you might want to run a (virus checker or spyware) remover to make sure that your systems are free of viruses and other spurious software.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.
I have tried several times and keep getting this message. I am just hoping I don't have something seriously wrong with my computer

    Hi,

I sometimes get this message if I have been using the Market Samurai
    keyword tool a lot.

You may need to wait several hours before Google will let you search again,
or sometimes you will get a captcha form you will need to fill in and then
    Google will let you in.

If you haven't been doing a lot of searches with a keyword tool like MS then
I am not sure what is going on.

I hope this helps you out.

Same here - when I use Mkt Samurai, I get that message after several big searches. Sure wish Mkt Sam support would find a way around this....

Thanks that does help, a lot. I thought it was a trick to get me to click on the virus download link. I did end up getting a captcha form.

    Hi Rhonda,

I am going to make a guess that you are using Internet Explorer, and most likely Internet Explorer 6.

If I am wrong then I guess my psychic abilities are seriously compromised.

If I am correct, then I would suggest using Firefox with the Google Keyword tool.

When I try to use IE 6 with Google Keyword tool, I usually get that error and Captcha prompt after a few minutes. Once that happens, I will usually get the error again and again every time I click on anything in the keyword tool page ... so basically unusable, until I log off and wait 10 or 15 minutes and try again.

Then I asked a Adwords tech person I know and they had a tech contact at Google and they told him there is a known IE (I think only IE6) problem and they recommended using Firefox. I have never seen the error since switching to Firefox. I still use IE for lots of things, just not with Google Keyword.

    I hope this helps.

Yes, this thing is quite common with Market Samurai....I also read somewhere that If you could get your hands on the Google API key from somewhere/someone that you won't get this message even after running automated queries. Google Discontinued giving the API Keys back in 2006 after just a few months itself.

Some people still have it and if you can get it from them then you might be able to run automated queries.
