Need some clarifications on setting up cb hoplinks!

4 replies
Greetings Warriors,

I am not sure if this would be the right section, but I really need your inputs about this.

I am promoting a CB product. In the vendor's affiliate page, I just followed the step 2 completely,

STEP 2 : Copy the Affiliate Hop Link below and Replace xxxxx with your Clickbank Affiliate ID:

Code:
http://xxxxx.vendor.hop.clickbank.net
So, I ended up having this,
Code:
http://myAffiliateID.vendor.hop.clickbank.net
I viewed the salespage using my affiliate hoplink, but when I clicked the "Add To Cart" button, and was redirected to the clicbank processor, and checked the bottom part of the page, I saw this, [affiliate = vendor]. It should be [affiliate = myAffiliateID], right?

I checked his product on clickbank too but I can't find it. I just copied and pasted the name of the products on the search box. If I can find it, I will just click the "Promote" button.

Please help.

All The Best,
G.B.

    Click here: HopAd Builder

    You'll have to login, but then it'll build your link for you.

    The Clickbank hoplink should be in this format:

    http://AFFILIATE.VENDOR.hop.clickbank.net

    There are a few reasons as to why you might be seeing their id as the affiliate id.

    1. They have set things up on their sales page so that no matter who sends people to that page, they then override those cookies with their own so they get credited for all sales. This is NOT allowed, obviously. But I am sure some people have tried this in the past.

    2. You did not enter your Clickbank ID correctly. You need to use a valid Clickbank ID otherwise the hoplink will not work properly. So make sure you use an actual Clickbank affiliate ID in that link when testing.

    The easiest way to get a working affiliate link is to go to the Markeplace, select the product, and click the promote button. If you're logged in, your CB Aff ID will be already entered, and you can enter a Tracking ID (something that will help you to identify where the clicks come from). The link is encrypted and nobody will hijack it from you. To set up the link with tracking in the traditional way:

    http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=TrackingID,

    e.g.
    Affiliate = PeterPan
    Vendor = CaptainHook
    Product = RottenApples
    Advertising source = GranpdasMarket

    To know how many people interested in RottenApples come from GrandpasMarket, your hoplink:

    http://PeterPan.CaptianHook.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=RotApGPMarket

    You will then see the RotApGPMarket in the TrackingID column, when you select Hops > By Tracking ID.

    This way you can advertise the same product in a multitude of advertising sources, and always know which one is performing the best, and possibly concentrate on the best ones in your future efforts.

      Thanks for the input Will. I can assure you that I entered my Clickbank ID correctly. I am afraid I have to agree your number 1 reason.

      I already contacted the vendor but no reply yet.

      Thanks for the input but I stated this on my original thread.

      Thanks for your suggestion too.
