Just a note - hope it helps someone!

If I come across an interesting thread or post here on the WF, I will print it out and keep it in a WF "Ideas" file.

If I ever need ideas, I browse through the file and it gets the ideas flowing!

I also have a folder for WF "Inspiration" - all of those posts where someone posts about reaching a certain goal or milestone ($100 day, reaching 7 figures, etc.) - I print it out and put it in a file.

If I ever have a "down" day, that file gets me cheered up!

I also have a WF file for "Methods" - any post or thread for a MMO method that I may not use right then, but I might use later.

Last, I have a "Mindset" file - posts that are positive.

I don't keep them on my computer, but I physically print them out (in case they disappear - LOL).

It really works for me!

Hope this helps someone!

That's great advice. I hope it helps someone, too. But, when I need inspiration or cheering up, I just walk into the nearest coffee shop and listen to everyone else b*tching about how bad life is... seriously...

      ROTFL

Not an option for me to just pick up and visit a coffee shop - not with 4 kiddos in tow.

    Shay,

Sounds like you need a file that lists where you keep your files.

Great ideas though. Kind of like "swipe files". I really need to do this because I end up spending too much time searching.

My biggest bonehead with files was when I decided to put them all on disc and then didn't label any of them.

Now instead of just looking through folders I have to physically insert and eject discs after searching them.

I really like your organizational methods.

For me, I rarely print things out anymore (my printer is broken ... )

But seriously, I don't like to print too much out because then I have to manage that paper so I can find it when I need it.

That means putting it in a folder, labeling the folder, filing it in a drawer, buy another file cabinet ... or more likely it just piles up and I have to handle all those files when I am looking for something.

Plus, when I need a bit of that information, I am usually on the computer and/or the phone, and most of the files cannot be conveniently and quickly accessed when I need it.

Lately I have been using a freeware (maybe open-source) program called WikidPad.

It is a freeform searchable text database. You can paste in text, html, images, URL's (clickable) file and folder-shortcuts, etc. Then when you need the information you can search for it, or navigate to it. Then click a link, or open a folder, and there's you document.

It's not perfect, but then very few things are ever perfect.

    Great suggestion Shay,

I was just saving the page (file... save as...) though it doesn't work if there are multiple pages in a thread...

so... your technique solves the problem...

I've recently started printing out hard copies of my favorite threads also... it's just so much nicer to sit in my recliner with a reading light and flip through the pages with a highlighter...

    I'm old skool too...

I don't print them out routinely - for really good threads I click to "show printer friendly" and then save in a folder for that month. As I have time I go through the folder and read what I've saved, may make some notes to save permanently or for something really good it goes into permanent files of resources, methods, tools, plugins/themes, etc.

That way I end up with a few top tips from that month - and the rest can be deleted once read.

          Absolutely!

So many of these Warrior threads are GOLD. I have always used the click-and-select text for any posts here that I find useful, then I open a blank Word page and do copy-paste. Add a line to separate, repeat for any and all posts of interest, use, full of "a-HA!" moments, etc.

And [spouses and partners aside, here!] who doesn't love to lie abed on a cold blustery night, snuggled beneath a couple of quilts, with tiny light and a cup of hot tea/glass of wine next to you... a pencil and a pile of Warrior-wisdom-filled pages in your hands, reading and eagerly circling, notating, etc. And your partner snoring peacefully in the dark quiet of night.

There are worse things to do than that!

I use Evernote. Free web tool, lets you highlight text and images from any webpage and save in a web clipping complete with search, tagging, individual folders, etc. Accessible both offline and online, even through mobile phones.

EVERNOTE, it is unbelievable. I have 10 Notebooks full of WF material. I rename some of my notes, you can search. There is a free version, a $5 mo version and $45 for the year version. This thing is incredible. It does screen shots, copy and paste notes from one to the other, copy and put in Open Office and make a PDF. I REALLY want reseller rights or Affliliate agreement or something with them, because this thing is FANTASTIC. (Works with Firefox GREAT, seems to work with IE)

It really is amazing the amount of good information you can get off this forum.

I'm sure there's money to be made (and has been made!) just taking ideas from here, elaborating on them, turn them into a WSO or full product...

Great advice, whenever I see some information that's worthwhile I usually cut and paste it to a word document and create a backup file of valuable information for future use! Warrior forum is great for free training and learning courses, as well as great general tips and tricks, a great post and thank you!

That sounds great im a tree keeper myself and as i save that much i keep them on a pen drive instead. I have a file called to view and have lots of things inside it including pages to freebies, a folder for warrior.

Just like i have a file for aweber where all my messages go that i send to my subscribers etc.

Plus its really good as i can access them all very quickly and the main folder is also on my desktop.
