INTERNET MARKETING

CB has new terms and conditions. Lots of interesting stuff in there.

This is just one of the things that caught my eye:

Promotional use of images or reproductions of Payment checks issued by ClickBank without the express, written consent of ClickBank is prohibited.

Looks like they made a change regarding products on social marketing!

New (#36): "Products about marketing through Craigslist or social networking sites that are contrary to the social networking site's terms of use."

Old (J): "The sale of products about marketing through Craigslist or social networking sites like YouTube, MySpace, and Facebook."

  In Reporting section i am seeing new tab called 'subscriptions' which will show only recurring billing items i guess. This is new section they added just today.

  The way I read Dan's post.... using YouTube was expressly forbidden in the old terms and NOT specifically prohibited in the new terms.

  Yes, but I bet it was more for their benefit than ours. Social marketing is big now, and if they don't allow products on it, they are going to lose out!
  
  Of course, I'm glad for it. I'm working on an eBook that covers social marketing; I was going to omit the section so I could sell it through Clickbank, but now it looks as though I don't have to do that!

An interesting point, it seems we won't be able to provide proof of our clickbank paychecks to our potential affiliates via video then! Some creative solutions must be implemented then..Nice post!

  Did the old Clickbank product requirements disallow the sale of website templates? I don't see that in the new contract. Am I overlooking it, or is that no longer a prohibited product? Anyone know?

If clickbank doesn't approve your product, do they refund $50 vendor-signup fee?

well, the way I read it is that you can't show paychecks, not screen shots of sales. As my lawyer likes to tell me: it needs to be clearly stated within the 4 corners of the contract.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here, and assuming they are just trying to stop fraudulant advertising.. in which case, they should be willing to give vendors the OK if their CB income claims are legit.
