stupid noob blog pinging question

say you add a new article. Do you ping that URL specifically or just your blog's main domain URL?

In other words, do you ping mysite.blogspot.com/newarticle

or do you ping mysite.blogspot.com?

Will it crawl the entire site from just the domain?

If you're using Word Press you can set up a good ping list so your software automatically notifies your choice of services each time you post. See blogging course in my sig line for video tutorial on this and other applications if you want.

There are various ways to do this I'm sure but I enter the URLs for 13 update/ping services into my Update Services box in Writing options of my WP dashboard - once done each time I make a new post my blog software pings these 13 URLs, which in turn redistribute the notification to even more services.

      It's simple and highly effective.

To my knowledge Pingler is a manual service but they probably have a URL you can plug into your blog - look for a URL with rpc in their resource section.
