[Solved] What is the default wordpress user name and password ?

The default username is admin, and password will be sent to use via mail.
However, you can choose your desired username and password by ticking the option Advanced...(not exactly remember)

To add on to what's being said, I have idiots trying to login to my sites daily trying to use admin as the user, I've heard hackers can use software that can figure out any dictionary word or combination of, inside 3 minutes.

Make sure you not only create your own user and password but make it as cryptic as possible with letters, numbers and symbols and use something like limit logins to prevent them trying more than a couple of login attempts.

My pleasure.

Google "limit login attempts" too. It's a very easy to use plug in that you can set to only let someone attempt to log in a couple of times and then shut them out for a desired period.

I don't use the admin username but every attempt so far has tried that. Also make sure you give them at least two attempts just in case you enter the user or password incorrectly and shut yourself out of your own site.

thanks i really like the idea of the login limit plugin, i just have second thoughts about how I could block myself from logging in to my own wordpress site.

It's ok because you decide how many attempts they get and it's better than getting hacked.

There is probably a work around for it I've just not had to look into it, yet (!)

Either way it certainly helps my sites and it's good to know its there.

Not only do you set the number of attempts allowed, you can usually (depends on the plug-in) also set an automatic time delay for new attempts. If log-n fails after say 3 attempts it blocks that IP address from trying again until after the timer expires. If you mess up and get locked out you can try again after a period of time. Inconvenient for you but a real aggravation for hackers.

While installation wordpress you will have ask user name and password. User name as default admin. But password we need to set. If you want to restore password then you can restore through the reset password link and password will get on your registered email id.

For anyone else that has this problem in the future default access is always www,yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ default user is admin

If you put the correct email address in when you installed it just recover your password, but if that doesn't work because you don't have access to that email account anymore:

You can also manually edit you password via phpMyAdmin which is somewhat difficult because of the way WordPress stores passwords so read up on how to do it before you attempt it. It is easier to simply edit the admin email address and then use the password recovery on it.

2. There is also an emergency recovery script found on the WordPress site you can use to reset your password.

To edit the password in phpmyadmin you need to simply go to md5 encoding site and convert it and put the string in the password field.
