Using video playback images to increase Amazon CTR

Some months ago there was a post about improving CTRs on Amazon affiliate websites by creating screen grabs of Amazon videos to make the visitor think they are clicking 'play' on your site, when in fact you are clicking an image which passes you through to the video on Amazon.
I've been using this method and am starting to see an increase in clicks, but I also remember another thread where someone was inferring that this method could be against Amazon Associates T&Cs. Does anyone know if this is true? I've had a look at the T&Cs, but cannot find anything in relation to this.
