Do Affiliates Use Business PayPal Accounts?

This seems like an odd question, but do affiliates use business PayPal accounts, or do they just use the Premier type?

I read that PayPal's policy only allows for any one person to own one PayPal account, but can have multiple business/merchant accounts for each business.

If affiliates don't register their marketing as a business, they wouldn't be able to sign up for a PP business account. Does that mean they just use their personal PP account for everything? Seems kinda messy...

Any advice on the best PayPal set-up for affiliates?

Thanks,
Ken

You could just go with a Premier account - it allows you to receive credit-card funded payments. Its not strictly necessary to have a business account.

Thank you both for your help.

I ask the question because I'm worried about
    1. Being disorganised with my payment transactions, especially when I use my personal PP account for well, personal uses.
    2. Keeping my private information private, like my home address and such. At least with a business account, I'd be able to use a business address. I can't do that for my personal account in case I need my home address to be made available in PayPal for whatever reason.

    Hope that made sense...

      HI,

paypals says itself that you can use their private account when you are an individual entrepreneur, equal in which country you live as us,european ...

I think (and hope myself) that paypal will not make probs with this, they will have copies of your passport and business registration, when you repeal you paypal annually limits, thats all.

I hope as an european with my paypal email adress that I not get a higher customer storno rate....this is not serious.

I think that paypal will not make problems when you make lets say 1000$ every month as an individual entrepreneur.

      best wishes

as a affiliate i would not use paypal at all. If you do not want to get your account locked and all your money in it, then i would use other merchant accounts. Trust me....

I agree with the above post. I use a business account but a different merchant account for a lot of my affiliate work.
