Just Made My First Money Off My List!!

ok so I didn't make much money but it was more of an experiment. This is my first real list I have built,lol.....I know its been too long. I have been creating niche mini sites and making money for a while but this is my first time selling something through my list. I have a list of around 360 double opt in's in a niche that all came from giving away a free ebook in the niche. So I sent around 8 free informative emails to my list first.

I only sent around 1 email out every 4-8 days. Then yesterday I decided to go ahead and make a move and try to sale my list something. So I found a decent plr ebook on my niche and priced it at $7.99. I set up a really lame sales page that just told my readers that this ebook could help them and had alot of information on the niche. The sales page didnt have a picture of the ebook or anything fancy, no over hype or anything like that also. Just said for $7.99 this is a great deal etc.

I also listed the table of contents on my sales page and told them that I would increase the price (and I will) next time I offer it.

So I sent that out at 6:30 pm est last night and have only a 39% open rate so far with 82 readers actually going to my sales page (according to aweber.) But I made 4 sales so far at $7.99 and had two people email me and ask a few questions before they potentially purchase.

So I only have a 39% open rate so far and with this list my lowest open rate before this message was 60% so hopefully I will have a few more sales coming in here in the next 48 hours.

So all in all this was pretty cool considering I put no effort in the sales page or anything. Im guessing if I really created a good sales page and a killer product I could get a much higher conversion. But with at least 10 new double opt in's coming in per day this should turn into a decent income producing list when I sale higher priced items and di it at least 4 times a month.

Just thought this might help some newbies! Build your list and let it grow, eventually within many months you will have a list in the thousands before you know it that bring you thousands of dollars per month
