The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated - is internet marketing dead?

I am really interested in what people are finding the best methods for driving their business. Everywhere I look on this forum people are listing methods which are now apparently dead e.g. article marketing, social media, press release, you name it someone says it's dead. I'm finding that they are all still working as long as you know what you're doing.

Bang on mate! The people that claim it's "dead" are the people who don't know how to use them properly.

Seriously, how can things like Facebook be dead? There are over 800 million people in ONE place, and people are claiming there is no way to benefit from this? I don't think so..

Don't listen to it my man, people who can't use certain strategies just come on here to moan about it, then other people who can't use them are like "yeah it sucks so bad I never get any success with it".. See where this is going? Lol

    They do work!

I guess it's all about adaptability, as long as you adapt to changes on the scene you will survive in the IM game.

Whether it will be called IM in 10 years though, nobody knows!

You got it right, I've noticed that too... Robi is right, most of them are just people who can't make money out of everything they consider dead... not because it is not profitable but because they fail to do it right.

Article marketing is dead? You are joking, right...?

I imagine what you are actually referring to is article "directory" marketing, but that's actually been dead for a number of years now.

Legitimate article marketing is still very much alive and thriving. It's not only the backbone of my online business, but of many other knowledgeable and savvy marketers as well.

I believe that some who don't have success with marketing just call it dead. There are some strategies that have died with Penguin, but for the most part, everything is alive and kicking.

The third thread today about "death" of IM or something? Second thread about the "death" threads....

Honestly - I wish these "death threads" would DIE. Enough already.

January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.

Agreed that's why I had to put a post up about it. I'm saying I don't think its dead wheras all the other threads seem to be sounding the death nell

My point is - there's no point in more thread about "death of" (one thing or another) or about "the threads about death of (one thing or another).

It an overused line no matter - no matter which way you approach it.

"Easy Button" internet marketing is dead, if it even existed in the first place.

Every day you need to go out and raise your game, find new tools and improve because your competition is and consumers are getting more sophisticated.

If all those techniques are dead, how should people do marketing for their websites? If you are using those techniques in right way, you will be paid without any doubt. Spamming is dead now.
