What's the word on GetResponse?

Hey Warriors,

I'm an Aweber guy. Can't really complain about it either. I've recently heard a few of my online peeps raving about GetResponse, some even switching from Aweber. I check out the GetResponse website out and it seem like a pretty solid service, but I've never used it so I don't/can't really have a valid opinion on the service.

If anyone out there is or has used GetResponse, tell me why?

For those of you who been around the block a few times with different ESPs, how does GetResponse compare to the rest? Also, how does it match up with Aweber?

Thanks in advance for your time!

I don't think there's a big difference between the two. GetResponse has a free 30 Day trial so you can check it out at no cost but if you have already built a list with Aweber and comfortable with it I don't see the point in changing.

I tried GetResponse but Aweber just seemed better for me so I stuck with it.

      Ok.

What exactly made Aweber a better fit than GetResponse though? Give me some context.

The automation/segment feature on Aweber is one of the main reasons for me..I'm not sure if GetResponse has it too but if it does I didn't see it. And the overall interface of Aweber seems more user friendly to me than GetResponse.

But like I said I doubt there are any big differences.

A really cheap way of doing emails is the calendar section of Yahoo Groups

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that GetResponse doesn't require double opt ins akin to Mailchimp. It makes importing lists much easily and hassle free.

Hi Andrey GetResponse definitely has automation features :

      remove-on-sale:

Once the sale is made in a certain campaign your contact can be automatically removed from its Active list and no longer receive your follow-up messages. This is very useful for removing someone from your advertising campaign, once they purchased a particular product.

      move-on-sale:

Another possibility is to have your contacts moved from one campaign to another once a sale is made. For example, a contact can be automatically removed from your advertising campaign, and be added to another campaign for a particular product.

      remove-on-remove:

Campaigns can be configured so that when a contact removes themselves from one campaign, they'll automatically be removed from several. Enable this feature if you maintain several campaigns and share contacts between lists.

      remove-on-subscribe:

When you have two or more campaigns, contacts can be automatically removed from one campaign when they add themselves to another. Example: You have two campaigns. The first is your product's advertising campaign for prospective buyers, and the second includes product tips for customers. Once your contact becomes a customer and signs up for the 'tips' campaign, they can automatically be removed from the advertising campaign.

      preload-on-change:

When you add or change messages for one campaign, you can have the updates automatically applied to another. Example: Advertising messages can be automated across different campaigns.

To setup automation rules, go to "your current campaign" in the upper right, choose "automation" from the drop down list, and select one of the "upon sale" rules.
