2 TOP TIPS For Newbies

Just thought I'd share this for newbies who are desperately seeking some advice...

I had a frustrating evening yesterday (not for THAT reason!), but I found myself doing exactly what I promised myself I'd never do again, and something that all newbies should learn to NOT do as early as possible...

I WAS CHASING THOSE PRETTY SHINY OBJECTS

Yup - instead of sticking to my chosen method of Internet Marketing, I saw something pretty, something that could prove to be a huge success which was sitting there in the War Room, saying "here I am, look at me and make loads of money". It's true, I could make money from it, but I haven't dominated the method that I'm currently working on.

So, my advice to newbies is:

Pick a method, learn it, dominate it and scale it up. DO NOT see something that is unrelated and venture off your path.

This leads me to my next point...

Once you've started on your path, stay out of the Warrior Forum, at least parts of it anyway - the WSOs will lure you in and capture your much needed focus and concentration. The War Room is golden, but can easily seduce you.

Don't get me wrong, Warrior Forum is an amazing place and I try to visit as often as possible - it's just best to visit out of your work time, hang around in this area of it and keep your focus, don't let your mind wander around the Warrior Forum whilst you should be working on your Internet Marketing business.

Having said that...what should I be doing now? What a hypocrite!

Good luck in your endeavours and use the Warrior Forum at the right time!

I know this problem very well and I think most warriors can recognize this issue. Looking for shine objects is still hard to resist for me..

Yup, it's astounding how many people believe that they're going to be loaded overnight. Hard work is so key it's not funny. Unless, of course, you have enough money to pay someone to do it all for you :p

I'd like to add that while you "pick one method and work it" if it fails you should tackle it from a different angle. Change some wording, Use different USPs, Change your price.

Simple things can make the difference between success and failure.

It took 2 failed PPC campaigns until I tasted my first success.

Yup, that's a VERY good point, Paul. I too failed initially and bought a WSO that sounded great, which had excellent review posts, but in the end it was black hat, with me being the naive newbie I was, failed to see. That most definitely spurred me on

Good point, and a commendable philosophy!

The question is, how do you know which field is best for you?

It took me nearly a year when I first start with IM before I finally grasp the important of FOCUS and WORK, instead of buying guide after guide looking for the magic button for online riches.

This is exactly the advice I would give to any IM newbies..but sadly just like me..it would take them sometime to understand these 2 important lessons.

It's always better with that you know better. One can earn a lot from one method, but it does not assure that you can do as well with that. People are different with their skills and thinking. Agree with this point. But I don't know, why you are telling to stay far from warrior? It is a nice place, and you can get some good tips from others. If you have a focused point, no one can change that. Take the best from here and give up which are not for you.

Don't get me wrong, this is a wonderful place, however it can be incredibly distracting and actually detrimental to your goals if you should rather be working on your business. It's the offers and goodies that pry your focus away that is bad for you, even if the offers and goodies are great ones! I love this place too much sometimes

    Hi,

I full-heartedly agree...especially the first point. As for the 2nd one, it is difficulty to find the 2nd method. Very much suggest that you find a mentor who has a wee bit of clout in the IM world and follow their lead.

    Thanks for the pointers ChrisMcDonald.

    cheers, Patrick

It takes descipline not to buy that shiny new product but you need to complete the method your working on in order to move forward. Take action, take action. Only allocate so much time to the warrior forum per day because it is addictive. Set-up what ACTIVITIES you have planned for the day and allocate them time slots.

I have been having the same issues! I keep getting brilliant ideas, I buy a new domain and then I just get stuck. In my head it goes likes this...Am I starting a blog or just a website? Should my blog focus on this niche or that niche? There are a million blogs like the one I want to start, what makes mine different? Oh wait, maybe I should just be an Amazon affiliate or no, let me just focus on Clickbank. Well, if I do Clickbank what products....gravity high or low? Nevermind, I should go back to doing a blog and building a list. I need Aweber, but how many messages to I setup and what should I offer them? I don't want to do a list - OH WAIT, what about youtube?..... this just keeps going and going and I must stop it and do something already!!!!!!! So frustrating =/

"The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it."

A man asked Buddha "I want happiness" Buddha said " First remove "I" that's ego, then remove "want" that's desire. See now you are left with only happiness "

That's a classic scenario! Well done on realising it, though! I salute you!

My question to you now is, "What have you done today to change that?" Now that you've identified your problem, what steps have you taken to move yourself forward? Set some achievable goals yet? Played to your strengths? Do you have a plan?

Exactly! That's kind of continuous thoughts that cause most newbies got the dreaded information overload or analysis paralysis.
