Anyone here have a wordpress membership site/blog?

Here's the deal i have being researching membership plugins over the last week and every review says one or the other is the absolute BEST membership plugin, all i want is a plugin that is easy set up on wordpress, is a one time payment and gives users a nice profile page/account when they are logged in.

If anyone here at all has a membership site of any kind that they can send me to so i can look at the login form, the sign-up form and other functioning on it i'd really appreciate it, because then i can associate the site with the particular plugin. I honestly can't go on someones word due to everyone saying one is the best over the other so i need to see some.

If you don't want to post here can you at least IM me? Thanks.

Check this video about converting Wordpress blog to membership site in less than 3 minutes:
Simplicity (+strong SEO features) were the main aspects of the product that people benefit from.

    Hi

I have bought it but have not put in use yet. But it got really positive reviews and it got all popular functions required by a membership plug in. Customer support is very responsive and programmer seems very zealous about further development. Special offer has ended but still you can check it and if you can afford it, give it a go.

Hi, there. I'm the developer behind Paid Memberships Pro, which is 100% open source and available for free in the WordPress repository:
WordPress › Paid Memberships Pro « WordPress Plugins

Take it for a spin. You can do one-time payments. Our plugin sets up an account page that will let users view invoices and cancel/upgrade their account, etc.

Good luck with the membership site.

Start with a free option (I used the paid version, but the free one's pretty strong too):

We use Wishlist and are so far very impressed. There are a ton of options out there, many of which will provide the features you need. One of the biggest aspects for us in choosing Wishlist was the support and service (they offer excellent support). That is often what makes the difference.

This one is great! That one is great! They're
    all great!

The questions is... Which one is great for
your particular need and price range?

The last thing you want is to fool around
with tools / plugins / software that have
    a steep learning curve.

You want a reliable script that will
get the job done, and isn't buggy.

I'm sure you don't want to mess
with code to make it run just perfect?

So, which product will be your best
    out-of-the-box solution?

    I second what JaRyCu stated:
    http://chmgroupofcompanies.com/web-d...tion-see-demo/

Not knowing what your EXACT needs
are, it would be foolish to suggest a paid
    product.

Try the FREE solutions first, and if they
do not meet your expectation, try the
    others.

    Much success,
    Frank

PS It wouldn't hurt to hire someone like
JaRyCu. He has a wealth of knowledge
and experience when it comes to various
    tools.

Your goal is to get your site completely
    finished (Membership / Affiliate programs
included), so you can start offering your clients
the best possible products / services - QUICKLY!

JaRyCu can help you fine tune your site,
suggest the BEST tools to use, and save
you countless hours of headaches that are
    sure to arise.

I appreciate all the replies, they've being more than helpful, however on my own judgement so far (as a beginner to membership plugins) i have to say S2member (free version so far) is outstanding. Apologies for not already mentioning that preceding this question i had purchased wishlist (a few days prior) and yesterday applied for the refund (won't put them down, great customer service with quick replies) but they weren't for me. S2member on the other hand . . just WOW, easy to use and so powerful.

I wonder is the pro version much better?

i am using Fast Member | Builds Membership Sites In Minutes Not Hours in combination with optimize press

    its an awesome combination

im not talking just theory here as i actually use both of these for my IM membership site right now

once you get the hang of it and how everything works it really does work well

mine is looking pretty slick now :-)

not cheap but then again if your building a membership site then it`s an investment into your business which you will make back fairly quickly

fast member pro version - $197
    optimize press - $97

I found Wishlist to be more suited to intermediate/advanced users possibly and it didn't really meet my expectations regarding ease of use and the member registration form wasn't aesthetically pleasing to me, very plain and unfortunately i didn't have the ability to edit css, php or whatever had to be done to fix it.. also i had problems with the member profile.

I found s2member the opposite, suited for an absolute beginner and was impressed by it's instant capabilities and the way it looks from a members point of view also. But i am still looking around!

      That's only my opinion now.

How anyone could choose anything premium over the free version of S2Member is surprising to me. I think it rocks, though I do own the pro version.

Can I piggyback a question onto this thread? With s2, is there a way to limit access to videos? I am starting to plan a membership site, and I want to be able to walk people through a video series in a defined period of time from when they sign up (for instance, sending them two videos per week for 8 weeks). Thanks!

    Inside your Dashboard go to:

    s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Content Dripping

    Hope that helps!
